Is any one here familiar at all with a forging manipulator made by Dynamic Equipment Corporation? Made in the 90's. Capacity is around 1600 lbs mounted to a fork truck. The one I have to use is mounted on a small Clark fork truck. I am looking for any type of operating or maintenance manual. I have exhausted google and searched several equipment archives. The original manufacturer is no longer. Any info would be appreciated.

For the past few days, I've been putting together a sand blasting from Harbor Freight. Now, I know, Harbor Freight equipment is not the best, more like a place to buy something I might use every other year. Be that as it may, I need a sand blaster to clean up a few things. And, I'm sure, when finished, the Champion blaster cabinet will fill that need. The parts are adequate. The holes, generally, line up. It is what it is! The instruction manual (for assembly) are a joke, and not a very good one, at that. The drawing are obscure (and, tiny). Important steps are left out, or are out of order. Good Morning All, I wanted to ask if anyone has seen this type of shredder before. I picked it and a few other goodies up at an auction in Fayetteville TN. The motor is a 1/2 HP Dayton with a 4 step pulley and the shredder part looks to have been used to shred foam rubber. Motor w/ pulley and some kind of shredder thing $10.00 14" Plane $12.00 2 Electric start propane torch (TS3000KC and TS4000T) with full MAPP Pro and to part full real MAPP gas bottles $16.00 It was a very good haul. Santa brought me my first set of "good" drill bits. They are Drill Hog M-7 bits. I have always bought big box- hardware store quality drill bits and used old motor oil as a lubricant. With my limited Google Foo I am now wondering what I should be using. There are websites that swear by motor oil, WD-40, Paste, gel and one website said diesel. I'd like to make these last as long as possible. Anybody have any favorites? I don't drill much harden material mainly mild or annealed. Or, am I overthinking this? Thanks

Looking for a switch for a 5hp 1ph 230v electric motor. Would like the switch to have an emergency paddle off button. There seems to be many different ratings on these types of switches. I dont have a clue on which will work. And is there a supplier that offers this "on-off" switch mounted in a metal box? Can't seam to find said item, after a lengthy search on line. Was over at a logging company in Oregon and saw this platen table. It's 8' x 6' if i remember correct, 4 separate pieces 4' x 3'. 9 inches thick. Yes 9 inches thick as far as i could tell. shined a light down the holes and it was 9 thick, felt the bottom from the side as far as i could reach. 9 inch... that makes for a 17k pound table. Hi folks, I recently picked up a Di-Acro 1A bender in nice shape, but missing its locking pin, the one with the eccentric on the bottom to clamp in your stock when you start the bend. Does anyone have one of these that they could take some dimensions off of? Specifically, what the large diameter is, and what the offset of the eccentric pin is? Napkin-CAD or a pic and some notes would do the trick.

Interesting to read about drill bits in the 'Followed me Home' forum. We found this old machine and no-one knew what it was until we were informed that it makes the collars on those drill bits. An old guy came by, and he had used one and told us all about what it did. There are a few parts missing but it sits well in our mine workshop. He called it a steel upsetting machine.

I have been offered a 14" x 16" x 1.25" chunk of A572 steel. It was originally purchased as a winch foundation. Although I was told that it was a hard alloy, I can't really see where the properties are much different than A36 mild steel. Can someone tell me whether this material will be better to use for power hammer and hydraulic press dies than mild steel? Thanks

hey guys I'm just looking for some advice on what some of the service items might be worth. I have a lady looking to sell them & I'm trying to buy them but I have no clue the value. she has an old foot pedal power hammer that was ran off a pull system & an old drill press ran off a pully. she also has an old motor operated grinding stone that still works & several different hand tools. I will upload some pictures but they are not very good. any advice is appreciated thanks. sorry it looks like I didn't get a picture of the power hammer but it's about 6 foot tall. & looks about in the same shape as the drill press

Hi, I'm looking to get some power tools for my shop but I'm trying to keep costs as low as possible. I've been seeing WEN power tools on sites like Amazon and they usually have pretty good reviews. But before I give them a try I thought I'd see if any of you have used them and if they're decent at all. I know they're not the best tools out there but if they can get me by for a while that would be fine. The ones I'm looking at in particular are the 5" bench drill press and the 1x30 belt sander.

I have the opportunity to pick up what I think is called a kick press or kick punch. it is a behemoth, probably has a four foot square footprint. has a fixture to accept dies and punches . It appears to be totally manual, with a pedal you depress which swings the top arm down to connect with the die. My sense is that despite its size and weight, which is probably over 500 pounds, it does not have a lot of power. does anyone have experience with this? My shop is a bit tight on space and though I hate to miss an opportunity, I would hate to have it eat up space for no good purpose.

I've read these forums for a long time and finally decided to sign up. I have the shop outfitters pedestal roller (338?) I am having some dies made for rolling flat bar "the hard way". I'm building a rail for a curved staircase, and using 1/2" x 1 1/2" hammered flat bar as a cap rail. I know, it'll be slow rolling with my roller, but it's what I've got! My question is, after the bar is heated, hammered, and straightened back out, how wide should the grooves be in my dies? I know too big and it'll be sloppy and crooked, too tight and it will bind and get stuck. If it's 1/2" thick bar, 9/16? Anybody have any experience making dies? Thank you

Hi: I am looking for the dimensions for the Hossfeld 51B3 (1/8, 3/16 and 1/4") spacers that are used with the 51B2 edge bend die set. Hossfeld wants a kings ransom for these spacers ($75-$90 US) and I have to pay in Canadian dollars (ouch!). I realize the ones I make are not heat treated, but if they wear out I can just make more out of mild steel. Would anybody be willing to measure their sets and provide measurements? Good Morning Folks, I helped a co-worker set up his cabinet and it was kind of a pain because the directions were written by and for people that already knew how it want together. Looking at the thing I see the only few specialized things in the entire setup were the blaster device and the glove/glove rings that you used when reaching in to the box. I think this must be easier to say than do but it looks like you could build one out of plywood and plexiglass. You would need to use (I would think) an N95 or better mask since you could use any number of tubes of caulk and still not get plywood to seal like injection molded plastic. Hi everyone, I'm just getting started in metal work and blacksmithing, and I'm thinking about buying a metal bender. There are two benders available locally (see links and attached pics), and I'm not sure which would be the best choice. The floor mount model is $115 cheaper and appears to be more versatile, but the benchmount model appears to accept larger stock and has an adjustable work stop and angle stop for repetitive bends. Right now I'd like to make some shelf brackets and some table legs, and don't think I would exceed the capacity of the floor mount bender, but I really don't know what I'll get into in the future. If you are near farm country go to an implement repair place and ask about speed reducers in their bone yard.. If you know the correct sprocket sizes for using a chain you can calculate the speed reduction very simply as pi x diameter x rotations of one == pi x the diameter x rotations of the other---and you can divide out pi from both sides!

I just got a used Hossfeld #2 bender at auction and would like advice on converting to hydraulic power. It already has the base plates and I've found plans online for the pieces I'm missing but need info on the cylinder and pump to use. I'm not a rich guy so $ are important, and the bender will get infrequent use so speed in bending isn't important either - but will be bending 1 1/2 to 2" tubing and not sure I want to try it manually. So if anyone can suggest the best cylinder and pump combination, specs, sources or related advice it would be very much appreciated. This subject was raised elsewhere but I've started it again here to seperate it out. I have gone to a lot of trouble bringing to life a large bandsaw that was run on 3 phase. I don't have 3 phase but can see the usefulness of a 'converter'. There's a lot of heavy duty machinery out there that generally goes for a song. (32" wheeled bandsaw = $200) and would be very handy in the shed. So what's the go with converters. Are they easy to build? Do you need a degree in electronics? Are they pocket sized or will I need to extend the shed. At what point should the electrician become involved. Or will he have to do the whole lot negating any saving of some hard earned.

my air compressor is running on it's last leg.....45 minutes to fill the 80 gallon tank to 150 PSI. So the compressor pump is a LeROI Dresser 440A, 7.5 HP. I found a complete rebuild kit from "factory air compressor parts." Price is $425 + shipping I'm also looking at options for replacing the entire pump. It seems the selection is varied. Wholesale tool carries a 7.5 HP, 3 cycle, 2 stage pump which is advertised as a 24 CFM unit, for $689 plus freight. Brand is RDX superior import. Hi guys, I hope someone can help me out. I'm building a belt grinder and have acquired a 230v 2hp 2800rpm single phase motor. Although it runs fine I would like it to run in the opposite direction and add an on/off switch. I took the cover plate off to see what was what and although i'm no expert the way it's wired looks odd. I don't know why it just seems unlike what i have seen before. I thought the cap leads should go to W1 & V1 not U1. Can someone cast an eye over it and just confirm it looks ok and maybe let me know what to swap to change direction. I think I just need to swap the jumpers from W2-U1 to W2- U2 and U2-V1 to U1-V1. But as I say i'm no expert! …

As I've gotten into the smithing, my father has been unearthing all sorts of components for a Shopsmith set up. Apparently he'd collected bits and pieces for years and majority are pretty much unused or lightly used. I got the Powerstation set up with the 6" belt sander and started working a blade on it last night, worked really well but I'm curious as to what people think who've used it before in metal/woodworking how well it will hold up and the results it helps bring about? Is it worth investing time in building the rest of the units up?

Is there a machine that is both combined with punching hole and shaping the ends of sway bars process during hot forging? Where can I get this machine? What is the size dimensions of this machine?
