  1. Here is my latest, It started as a small thing but just kept growing until it was about 15" long!
  2. jlpservicesinc, I know the process, i just don't have the time to mess about. Anyway, one is ordered and on it's way so thanks to all. Smoggy, Roger contacted me and we have done the deal, it's on it's way, thanks for your help.
  3. Smoggy, Thanks but I'm not on Facebook, I have found the post but can't contact him as i'm not a member.
  4. Does anyone know where I can get a small touchmark made in the uk for my very special items?
  5. Does anyone know where I can get an 8" rubber coated contact wheel in the UK? I just can't seem to find one!
  6. Just completed the belt grinder build, I documented it in a ten part video series if anyone is interested.
  7. Not strictly just a bolt but a nut and bolt! Bit of a cracker!
  8. No, I mean "Ockham's razor; Latin: lex parsimoniae "law of parsimony") is a problem-solving principle attributed to William of Ockham (c. 1287–1347), who was an English Franciscan friar, scholastic philosopher, and theologian." im not going to bother mucking about with it, it works so I'll just mount it on the right. It will probably be better that way as I'm primarily right handed so much easier to use the switch.
  9. Ha ha! I'm a great believer in Ockham' razor...
  10. If only we had somewhere like that here. No one these days knows how to repair anything, they just say "it's had it" and put in a new one. I doubt if I could find anyone with enough knowledge round here. We don't have "repair" shops.. It's no big deal, it works as it is and all I need to do is put it on the other side so it will still do the job. Thanks anyway.
  11. I didn't mention that it's a capacitor start as I thought that was obvious from the photo with the capacitor leads marked. I have no idea if there is an aux circuit as there are only four wires coming from the motor and nothing else. I guess I'll just leave it as it is and put the motor on the other side of the machine.
  12. Hi guys, I hope someone can help me out. I'm building a belt grinder and have acquired a 230v 2hp 2800rpm single phase motor. Although it runs fine I would like it to run in the opposite direction and add an on/off switch. I took the cover plate off to see what was what and although i'm no expert the way it's wired looks odd. I don't know why it just seems unlike what i have seen before. I thought the cap leads should go to W1 & V1 not U1. Can someone cast an eye over it and just confirm it looks ok and maybe let me know what to swap to change direction. I think I just need to swap the jumpers from W2-U1 to W2- U2 and U2-V1 to U1-V1. But as I say i'm no expert! Much appreciated, I attach some photos of all I know!
  13. High tensile bolts are not high carbon, they have tensile strength no good for an edge. It was made as a letter opener.
