Howdy smiths, So here's the short of it: I have a Fasco B24220 AC blower and I want to wire it to a foot pedal which will plug into a standard outlet. My trouble is, I'm electrically challenged. Any advice on electrical specs/wire/foot pedal I can buy to accomplish this? Here's the info on the wires connected to the blower (which which happens to be a NON POLARIZED AC MOTOR?): CSA CL1251 OR AWM I A/B 1258C 600V Ft-2 E29326 AWM 125*C 600 V Style F 3173 18 AWG Suitable for Switchboard Wire. Thanks and Gig'em! Micah
Hi guys, I hope someone can help me out. I'm building a belt grinder and have acquired a 230v 2hp 2800rpm single phase motor. Although it runs fine I would like it to run in the opposite direction and add an on/off switch. I took the cover plate off to see what was what and although i'm no expert the way it's wired looks odd. I don't know why it just seems unlike what i have seen before. I thought the cap leads should go to W1 & V1 not U1. Can someone cast an eye over it and just confirm it looks ok and maybe let me know what to swap to change direction. I think I just need to swap the jumpers from W2-U1 to W2- U2 and U2-V1 to U1-V1. But as I say i'm no expert! Much appreciated, I attach some photos of all I know!
I'm new to the forum, and new to forging. I've been collecting pieces of equipment here and there, and am about ready to start my first project. The last thing I need to do is get my blower set up. The wife purchased one for me as a Christmas present, but as I've never done any wiring, I have some concerns I'd like to pick someone's brain about. The biggest thing being this: The blower doesn't have much in the way of instructions, but it does say that I need to ground the thing by running a new wire to the bare metal of the blower. I picked up a 3-pronged plug with a pigtailed end (has a ground wire of course) and some wire nuts and electrical tape. Do I need to run a wire from that ground to somewhere on the blower? Or do I just need to connect the white and black and tape down the ground? I didn't have the info for it at first, but my wife still had the link, so I had her send it to me. It's a Dayton 1TDN1 shaded pole blower, 115V. (Amazon link here here some more specs: https://www.amazon.com/Dayton-1TDN1-Shaded-Pole-Blower/dp/B001OM1L92/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&ref_=ya_aw_od_pi#feature-bullets-btf) Let me know what you folks think. Thanks!
