So found this at my local salvage yard today any info on these and has anyone ever used one for cutting stock

Hows the blades look?? They are usually not cheap if you can find them

That's a mechanical alligator shear.  The scrap man of yesteryear's partner in crime!  I suppose one could be used just fine as a rudimentary ironworker/shear for bar.  There's a big one that's a bit similar in a machine collection in my town as well.

That looks like it could be used as a rolling multi surface anvil.
