Jean-Pietro Augler made this so simple, yet you feel you are interrupting their privacy.

I took this sculpture to my first attempt at selling at an craft/art fair Saturday as an attention getter and it worked like a charm. I set it out front and people were drawn to it, probably out of curiosity. I sold most of what I had with me (never had that happen before!) and it was a lot of fun. Scott.

Heres a six legged dragon fly I made a while back, good and rusted, compared to my horse shoe version. I suppose it just goes to show you can use different styles and materials in your art/sculpture. It also shows how one can change and adapt to new ideas, like my next dragon fly I'm working on that may reflect some great input I found on IFI sculpture forum. Scott.

Made my first rams head tonight. Turned out better than I thought it would. Still need to make a few more. Definitely one of those projects you have to go step by step on. This one I made out of the head of a railroad spike. Next one I think I will try the folding method so I can get more horn out of it. As this one stands it's not a shooter. Not sure what to with the rest of the spike. Maybe a bottle opener?

Helloo. Heres an ant that I made out of some 5" pipe. I notched four places on the pipe on each end with a torch and then bent them together for welding to make the body parts. Next time i think a cut-off wheel would be easier. No slag. Usually I let my projects rust outside but I tried painting this one but it turned out horrible so that's why it has that "sandblasted" look to it. lol. I have a friend that is very talented with an air-brush and painting but i wasn't blessed with that skill. Try as I might.

In addition to the historical reconstruction of the forge debris from the battlefields of the First and Second World War. Some of my work. At the beginning .. "coffee set": a cup, sugar bowl and spoon made of the Austro-Hungarian fuses shrapnel 80 mm, rear bullet, shrapnel Austria - Hungarian caliber of 100 mm and the so-called "glass" or cup bullet Austro Hungarian caliber 80 mm. Spoon is also a sliver of bullet shrapnel demolition. And cutlery with debris: large soup spoon, fork and knife.

Just practicing making animal heads, this was a dragon head and since it was already a nice bar of steel I decided to make it a sea Serpent. The biggest problem was welding on the flippers, they really didn't want to go and one of them fell off as I was 90% done. This difficulty in material handling has promoted me to begin making split tongs, so I can hold material in two seperate places while being able to forge weld in between them though that's probably for tomorrow.

Preying mantis. Been working on him all week with many distractions inbetween. He is in fight mode. Sorry. Had to toy with him battling Trimontasaurus like an old Godzilla movie.

This is a statue built from scrap metal and commissioned in England. Amazing detail, almost photographic. Beautiful work! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4088906/Tin-Tommy-s-ready-scrap-20ft-metal-soldier-haunting-reminder-World-War.html

Thought I'd share a few pics of a sculpture I just finished for the special lady in my life as part of a Valentines gift. I can't take credit for the concept of the sculpture, I saw a pic similar on Pinterest probably a year ago and started saving parts since then - and put my own twist on it. Although the only forging I can claim on it is bending the arms into rings - and then tack welding the rest - I thought it was worth a share. Used 2 old bent hooks I had, two different size ball bearings and a railroad clip. Finish is is Rust Oleum hammered bronze paint. I wanted to go with blackened scale finish with bees wax - but the bronze will match better with h…

I was out in the shop this morning making a couple tools and took a break for a little fun on the lighter side. I have a box full of spikes I was given so I figured I'd better start using them. And yes Frosty he is spiked to the stump lol!
