Here is my first go at a Rose Im pleased how it came up Hope it works LOL

This is my second rose. I wanted to try something a little different than cutting the petals out of sheet copper and wondered how small I could go and still get a decent result. I started out with four pennies, flattened, traced a scaled down pattern and went to work. I think there are things I could have done a little better, but overall am pleased with the results. You can't much cheaper than four cents and a piece of ground wire. Hope you enjoy.

Another couple of christmas gifts. This was my first attempt at making these and im pretty happy with how they came out. My only issue is that when i took the pieces from the forge and quenched them into the water the copper turned black. It was a tough black that took alot of hand sanding to remove and even so there is still some there. Anyone have any tips for me on how to either avoid this happening or how to more easily remove this stuff.

My wife's birthday is Monday. And due to some unexpected bills that we got hit with recently... she insisted I not buy her anything. Well, today was the first day I have been able to light up my forge in several weeks due to combinations of weather and my bill-paying job. So I made this rose for her. Well, first I made a rough, but functional tenon tool to square up the edge of the tenon I was planning to attach the petals to the stem with and ground an old beat-up pair of pliers into what I am calling my petaling pliers. (Sorry for not taking a pic of them, might do that tomorrow) The pliers

This design was suggested to me by a family member. This is my first try. My wife snagged it as soon as she saw it. I'm glad I got a pic first. Critiques welcome. Thanks for looking. Mitch

Good Afternoon, I joined this forum and promtly found myself browsing briefly through each forum section, and was inspired by the first sticky on the copper page. I realised that I should get stuck in with what I have and to stop waiting when I can afford the right tools and have 'this' or 'that'. So I started pulling out things which I have been lugging around with me for years, looked for some scrap copper pipe from the geyser we put in and just got stuck in, and here is the result.

This is the first project I have shared here. In my attempt to make something marketable and fun I finally found to projects to put together. This is a "Russian Rose" and a Skull I forged from a RR Spike. This is the first one I have ever done. It might be the first one ever. I have never seen one before. I'm glad to have the opportunity to share it. Any feedback or methods of making it better is appreciated. Thanks

I went to a local ABANA meeting (first time there) to pick up some coal. I had the kids with me, but decided to step inside anyway. While watching one of the guys I asked what he was making. Turned out it was the beginning of a rose. I didn't get to see much of the process, but decided to give it a shot anyway. Here is the outcome. Here is a video of it as well (not the process).
