Billings and Spencer tool company has a pretty cool history. The founder got his skills for drop forging from the Colt firearms company.

Pretty cool Gazz, i am also glad you left the open end with the logo. I love tools. The Snap-on and MAC truck are like shoes store to women for me. (yeah like i am the only one here)

After calling the mom for mother's day, I had a bit of time to practice my birds. Tried making it so the beak opened the bottle, and it does, but I found the legs and tail grab the bottle cap way better, and it sits in top of the bottle.

Yes, it does need to be straighter, and more symmetrical. But Its alot better than my first bird. 431133998_IMG_20190427_1303242882.thumb.jpg.b40824581c5c3ac8c72e2c2ef00ee871.jpg

What grade stainless?

I made a steak turner out of ss (dont know what type) but it seemed like mild steel to forge.

Is it 450 as in yz450 or wr450, ? the only sensible choices....

I think I’m going to make one of these as warm up for each session.

Ooh I like em. I like the way you've turned the second loop and really like the texture in the top one.

Here are a few that I have made over the last little bit. The dice one I used a drill press to make the dots.

Love it!  I’m glad you had a good time in my “shop”.  You picked up little bits of instruction well and had good hammer control.  You are on your way.  Let’s try to schedule more meet-ups.  Nevan was annoyed he missed the best part.

Made this one the other day. 1/2" square stock. Upset, flattened, punched, and drifted the hole (first time!) Difficult to see, but the opener end is set on the diagonal of the square stock.IMG_20190913_132448107.thumb.jpg.1548ad4d7c7979b1ac3b4992660d7bdb.jpg

Oh, nice! I've been wanting to try setting it on the diagonal, but my tooling isn't really up to it at t he moment.

I held the hot steel on the diagonal across the anvil and hammered the end "flat" to start the round part of the opener. Then punched and drifted the hole. Finished the hole on the horn, pushing the corners of the steel back into the round.

I do a lot of coiled cobra paper weights, but this one has his mouth open to open bottles. 200mm of 12mm square bar. The worst part was drawing out the tail. (Not an original idea - saw something very similar on You-tube).

Nice work Aus! Looks like a quick seller. Better make more.

Great job!

I've see a small dragon headed opener where the top had 2 fangs chiseled in that left a bite mark on the bottle cap.  Perhaps a variation for the fangs?

Made a right handed bottle opener, or a dyslexic left hander.

Flip it over; with some tweaking it would probably work fine either way---selling point!

Billy, I like it, looks like a good “bet you can’t in 10 seconds with your left hand “ opener, or “you didn’t know your only supposed to use your right hand for this” when you give it to a left handed person.

I will have to give my dad a try with it, he is left handed.

My dad was left handed too, ever try rolling up an extension cord, that had been partially unrolled, by him?
