Can I get some help identify this Brooks anvil? It is stamped J Brooks along with the number 351 on the side. The anvil is 33" wide and 14" tall.

Hi I got this Anivl from a garage sale it was covered in about four layers of heavy thick paint. When I finely got it off I found out it was a Trenton Anvil. On the base it has several numbers an a very strange symbol I was hoping to get help identifying. One stamp is 150 which I assume is the weight (feels about right). I think the T means it was made by “Doggie” Taylor. I’m not sure about the rest which is why I’m here. check out the picture. I’m located in the Bay Area. I appreciate any help

I have an Arm and Hammer anvil that appears to have English hundreds weight marked under the manufacturer's logo. It's spaced unevenly and rather far apart. My great grandfather had a blacksmiths shop in the very early 1900's. I have pictures but I'm not sure how to upload them.

hello all, i am looking at a new anvil. I am looking at a Holland south German pattern and a Refflinghaus #58. I am looking for opinions on which one yall have personal experience with as well as pros and cons to each one. I have heard only good about both and have not heard anything against either. Just trying to decide which one to spend my hard earned money on. I currently have a 150lbs vulcan, a 150lbs trenton, and a 300lbs peter wright.

I recently aquired this magnificent anvil. And wanted to show it to fellow enthousiast. It has been used at Helsingor shipyard, Denmark. The condition is very Nice, only issues are minor pitting in the face and a little kiss from a torch at the heel. Maybe somebody Can help me age this anvil? Also interrested in more info about the manufacturer The stand is not for this anvil! Greetings from Denmark

Finally found a good swedish anvil that i couldn't not take home so here is a few pics, 1923 Soderfors 112LB, nice flat face, rings loud( better now its mounted to the 85kg hardwood stump), if anyone knows what the 11 under the main left face is, or the 7 66 1-50 on the rear is that'd be great. This is the big boy of the JHM line up. These are ductile iron anvils made in the USA. THE competitor model weighs 260 pounds and handles my use/abuse well. I bought it used from a farrier and he had radiused the edges nicely. I have no complaints other than a fat horn. The stand adds another 100 pounds so this set up is very stable and is also quiet.

A few days ago I went hunting and came home with 150 kg (330 lbs) North German pattern S&S anvil. In previous life it was "in" concrete base, hardy hole was blocked with piece of steel, very, very rusty and it was ideal for testing welding sticks ... despite everything sound was amazing, rebound too! I have a working blacksmith shop in Vermont. I was just contacted by a stone mason who had bought a Milwaukee 100AS Anvil 55 years ago when the local hardware store was going out of business. It was new then and has never been used. Thought you might like to see it. Wondering what it might be worth.

Im new here (First post). I have been blacksmithing blades for about 4 months and my rail section is not cutting it for me anymore, I found a local guy selling a heybudden 120lb anvil for $475. I know Hay-Budden's are good but is that price too much? Mod note: Link to sales site removed.

Did a search can't match # to check age and weight i was just given this anvil it says patent on body but the name is rubbed out and 210 is punched into base the same as my 120 pound PW.Has anyone have an idea on age and weight i'm guessing over 200lbs on weight..

I plan on buying a copy of anvils in America in the near future however trying to get more information such as the year it was made as well as the value on an anvil my uncle gave me. The serial number as I can read it is 110753, the weight is stamped 1 5 2 and is the actual weight not in hundredweight I double checked it on a scale(151.7). The inspector mark appears to be either a 3 or a 8 it's hard to tell based on the stamp. Rebound is about 70-90% depending on where on the working surface. There are a few spots that gouges and chipped edges have been welded. Though I am curious I have zero intentions to sell it as it is a family heirloom. Any and all information provid…

Hi all, Apologies in advance, I know you guys get a ton of these requests. I simply can't find the answer to my question for whatever reason. I have (have had in my dad's shop, my shop since '97) an old Arm & Hammer Anvil that if I recall correctly was either bought at a farm auction or left in one of the buildings (we bought the land). It's a 91 lb (actually 89.6) solid wrought with tool steel top, definitely rings loud and proud when struck. I'm just curious what year or range of years it was made. Serial number is 4009, so I assume it's somewhat early. No, I don't want to sell it lol. Thanks in advance, Art

I know a man who has an anvil I'm not familiar with. It is a farriers anvil with a swelled horn that is up swept . I am not finding any information on this brand is anyone familiar with an anvil marked JK? It appears to be cast and the logo is positive

I am going to look at an anvil this afternoon and the guy say's it has Wilkinson imprinted on the side and it weights about 100 lbs. Has anyone heard of these anvil's and if so are they cast iron? I don't have any pictures at this time, but it sounds like I can get some today and post them later.
