Prayer List

  1. Started by Glenn,

This is not a religious forum, but a blacksmithing site with (by request) a section to ask for assistance and acknowledge blessings. IForgeIron is a world wide site representing many religions and you therefore SHOULD NOT specifically refer to any one religion or any one God. IForgeIron does not care in which direction you face when you pray, nor does it care if you stand, bow, kneel, sit, or lay prone when you pray. It does not matter, as the prayer is between you and your God (whatever you perceive your God to be). Some believe very strongly in their religion and their God, and that is a good thing for them. If someone asks for assistance, and you feel so incl…

Daswulf (Aric) has given me the okay to ask for prayers on his behalf while he being treated for a serious illness. Please keep him and his family in your hearts. Here’s a photo of him and me in his shop back in 2017.

  4. Started by JHCC,

Hey, everyone. I’m writing to ask for your prayers for my son Iain, with whom I’ve been sitting in the ER for the last 27 hours. He’s physically fine, but there are some mental health issues that are going to require him spending a few days at a facility for observation and treatment. I won’t say more for confidentiality’s sake, but please remember him, me, Lisa, and all his doctors and nurses over the next few days. Thanks, John

British artist-blacksmith Michael Bud has been killed in a road accident near his home in Ireland. Man killed in Sligo accident was well known artist and blacksmith I never met him, but I often found inspiration in both his work and his writings on the state of the blacksmithing art. Memory Eternal.

  6. “Just close your eyes and you will see, All the memories that you have of me. Just sit and relax and you will find, I’m really still there inside your mind. Don’t cry for me now I’m gone, For I am in the land of song. There is no pain, there is no fear, so dry away that silent tear. Don’t think of me in the dark and cold, For here I am, no longer old. I’m In that place that’s filled with love, known to you all as ‘UP ABOVE’.” Debi's mom Ms. Sara has departed this life on December 19, 2025 at 2306 hours at the age of 96. She left this world as she always said she wanted to do in her own bed and not in some hospital. She had Debi and her other daughter Joanne at her si…

Sad news. Just heard that long-time member and contributor Tim Gunn passed away from a Brain Aneurysm on Friday. He was such a knowledgeable and genuinely helpful guy, helping me as I built burners and forges over the years, as well as offering help to many others. It came as a bit of a shock to hear that he had passed. At least he can rest easy, knowing that he will be missed. RIP Tim.

  8. Started by Frosty,

This is for my wife, the post title is her old nickname and the reason we met but that's a different story for later. She's been wearing a heart monitor for an arrythmia and got a phone call about 30 minutes ago to get herself into Providence hospital in Anchorage and report to the ER ASAP to have a pacemaker installed. Evidently her heart stopped for 8 seconds just before they called. The delay calling her was to review the monitor recording and decide if they should dispatch a Life Flight or ambulance. They were okay with me driving her in so I am. She's primping and I'm getting things together. We are leaving soonest! Say a few words with higher for her pleas…

  9. Hi everyone, I live in Brisbane, in the state of Queensland, in Australia. We have a category 2 tropical cyclone breathing down our necks right now and I know I, for one, would appreciate any prayers anyone can give, please. It was originally meant to make landfall last (Thursday) night, but it has slowed and will now make landfall early tomorrow (Saturday) morning. It should cross the coast about 70km (~40 miles) north of us. Unfortunately, the delay in landfall isn't a reprieve. It means it will have more time for destructive winds and flooding rainfall to have an effect before the eye passes over. We're about as prepped as we can be, so now it's jus…

There’s word on social media that Uri Hofi has died. May his memory be a blessing.

  11. Started by Frosty,

We've all been seeing, hearing and living with hurricane Helene and praying for the victims. Now hurricane Milton is bearing down on Florida and it looks to be a solid 4 maybe a 5 on the fugita scale. I'll be adding the new victims to my prayers. Keep your heads down and Via Con Dios. Frosty The Lucky.

Please pray for her safety and that of everyone in the flood-ravaged areas of the South. If you hear from her, please send me a DM. I will update this thread as needed.

  14. After many, many months of planning, soul-searching, and dreaming big, my lovely wife Lisa has today made a handshake deal on a small suite that will be the first physical home of her new yarn store. This has been a long time coming, and any prayers, best wishes, good vibes, or whatever you care to contribute would be most welcome!!

  16. Started by Scott NC,

Hi everybody, I got a short message and call from Frosty, he was just in the hospital with a nasty virus, didn't say what, but he is out now, resting and recuperating at home. He wants the gang to know, in case he's not posting much. I'm sure he'd appreciate some kind words, thoughts and prayers. Scott

  17. Started by Paul TIKI,

So I didn't really want to ask for myself, because we lost Glenn and Thomas recently, but I'm having a pretty rough time of it. In June we had a suspiscion. In August I was diagnosed with Throat cancer. Now, even though it is the sort that should be taken seriously, the survivability is pretty good (Squamous cell carcinoma in the throat) I have been trying to tough it through the radiation treatments and now Chemo on top of it They were hoping to get it with radiation, but they think chemo would actually help more long term. I could use some good vibes, prayers, and a few anvil rings Thanks guys

Before anybody asks, I don't know any of the specifics, only that Robb Gunter, an internationally known smith, just suffered the loss of his two sons, also incredible smiths. Some of you may know/heard of Robb Gunter, but the loss of his two sons is devastating. The world lost two great smiths.
