July 1, 20241 yr That's quite a bit larger isn't it! I like the light, especially under the light well, I'd be hard pressed not to put my desk under it but it'd be near perfect for a knitting circle. A friend of ours opened a fiber arts store next door to our UPS store and there are always a couple few folks knitting, crocheting, tatting, spinning, whatever. The knitters meet at "regular" times and occupy the circle. I get a good vibe from the new location. I think I'll tip a little single malt to you tonight. Nice of the old occupants to leave you a little tipple. Sort of a Parthian toast? Frosty The Lucky.
July 13, 20241 yr Author Well, after a total bear of a move, we re-opened today in the new location. Moving yarn out of the old shop/gravity is your friend: Lots of yarn: Sorting and inventory: Putting up and filling display racks: Our neighbors’ kid provided coffee from his roasting business*. Taking down the sign from the old location: And opening day at the new: * He’s 13 and started the business when he was eight. That’s one entrepreneurial kid.
July 13, 20241 yr Gravity IS your friend if what you're catching is soft. If Deb and I get to Oberlin I need to buy a cup of Eldon's coffee! The New Ewe looks pretty darned good! Will any spinning be going on? I'm sure Deb will have her wheel with her she can show EWE how. Congrats! Frosty The Lucky.
July 13, 20241 yr Congrats to your wife & you John! Lots of hard work and wishing you many years of success in the beautiful new store!! --Larry
