Nice 450. Here's a quick little heart opener. Passed testing 

I already posted this in the “What did you do in the shop today” post, but I think it belongs here too:

My first attempt at the Dragon Scale twist. Started with about 7" of 1" square. Tapered to about 3/16" at the end. I did the opener end taper and punch before cutting the diagonals. I tried to pre plan the cuts with partial success. Once cutting I messed up the first one cutting too deep and across the center line. In the finished piece its hard to see. Overall pretty fun project, may try again on a bit smaller stock.

Doing some learning today. Sheared off an ear and then a nostril before I decided to slow down.   They are getting better 

Such great openers here! I haven't done many but I thought I'd take a break from what I've been practicing on and made this. Just felt like something artful. I'm not great with chiseling and punching. I figured out a different strategy for the next one. This one, the snout came out too long. Cut it down and reworked it. The loop was too big to fit a bottle, so I cut a piece out and tried to put in scrolls that I've been seeing everyone do. It works now.

Spent some time last weekend forging out my first horse head bottle opener, and surprisingly went really well! I ran out of flat bar, so I opted to do some extra hammering to flatten some 5/8 round bar. I unfortunately decided to make the head double sided . I ended up fighting myself with the fuller marks on the mane, forged one side and the other faded . 

one side is smiling the other is frowning 

Perhaps a simple bent round rod fuller to do both sides at the same time "U" ; or a swing arm fuller where you leave a gap at the pivot and so orient it with the mane out toward the ends that close tighter?

Those are nice. I like the way you shaped the horse head. And you got the ear to stand out real well. Nicely done on all three 

Thank you CGL, that was the third one. The first 2 never made it to openers. 

Nice all round, well done. My favorite is #3 it screams out for a story. A ghost story for Halloween, Maybe a whacky snowman story for Christmas or heck just make something up. I would.

That's great! Although looking at that bottle is making me a little queasy. We had a little too much cerveza and tequila last night and are recovering today... was a good time though 

Since you used the term cerveza is it possible that today you are recovering from the Corona virus ?

It is... the most interesting virus in the world. 

You guys crack me up! No, we brought Corona for the hosts. It was Revolver blood and honey for us. We were invited to some friends house for food, music and drink. He is from Mexico originally and she is from El Salvador. He speaks broken English and my husband has a good grasp on Spanish. It's amazing how much fun you can have despite a language barrier. But we are teaching each other. I don't drink much so last night wrecked me. I'm actually making a bottle opener for him and I will post it when I'm done

No cerveza for me, that was a bottle of cider.
