    Barb wire

Very nice I am surprized barbed wire forge welded like that.
  7. I wear sweat bands (like tennis players wear I got mine at Wally world) just above my glasses and that really helps with the sweat problems. I have glasses that have the side protectors I got from my eye doctor. That works for me
  8. I have to say this I had some welds like that when I was learning to weld with an old buzz box years ago. Would not be proud of it to day but when I got the metal to stick I was a proud puppy. That might be what this picture represent a beginners weld, be proud that he is learning...

    Barb wire

Sounds interesting but I have to agree with easilyconfused that you forge weld a high carbon cutting edge in so you have a good knife.
  11. I agree with John I have used 20 Muleteam borax to weld damascus with and am happy.
  12. LOL Frosty you should have asked if he was going to wear casual or evening dress... What he wears would affect his make up.. Jimmy the metals sound fine but pattern will be decided by how you work the billet after it is made.
  13. Very nice work please finish and post more pictures

    Guillotine tool

I must have missed that part, as I assumed you were setting bevels along the blade the way it read. But I am good at being Confused easily. makes sense to be a necking tool. I like it

    Guillotine tool

I was taught to bend the blade before I do this so as the blade curves it actually strighten its self out. If you can figure out what I mean. I draw out the distal taper by hand.
  19. Here is a guillotine tool I made to start the angle on my blades. I cut the angle in the tool with an angle grinder and files. The back of the cut is 1/4 " and is approx 2" long. I do not taper the blade to an edge with this but just start the taper. William
  20. Yes you are in our prayers for a speedy recovery and that the Doctors would have the wisdom to know what is going on. William
