Frosty
Makeup? You want to know what we think about makeup? Heck, we don't even know if you're a summer, autumn or winter. Sorry, couldn't resist. Frosty
triw
LOL Frosty you should have asked if he was going to wear casual or evening dress... What he wears would affect his make up.. Jimmy the metals sound fine but pattern will be decided by how you work the billet after it is made.

jimmy seale
i was thinking maybe a lower carbon content to try forge welding, maybe 5160, hoping that it may work for me better till i get better, thanks for the imput, jimmy
Steve Sells
its your call, but 5160 dont like to weld as easy as plain 10 series steel. Lower carbon is not easier, and in this case add the scaling of chrome.

JPH Tied up like a Gordon Knot Lovely pattern as always Jim. As for same steel, close if you forget about the Chrome and Moly in the L-
