I receive several e-mails from people everyday that do not know how or do not care to use the correct procedure for forwarding e-mails. If you read the e-mail below you will see it is very important that you follow the correct procedure. I really dislike seeing my e-mail address coming up on all these forwarded e-mails. One other thing it is really discouraging to send out e-mails and a few days later I receive the same e-mail back. Looks like some of you are not reading my e-mails. How to Use E-mail A friend who is a computer expert received the following directly from a system administrator for a corporate system. It is an excellent message that ABS…

If you don't think our military pilots earn their pay ... you need to take a look at this picture .. and then look again and realize what you're seeing .. This photo was taken by a soldier in Afghanistan of a helo rescue mission. The pilot is a PA Guard guy who flies EMS choppers in civilian life. Now how many people on the planet you reckon could set the back end of a chopper down on the roof top of a shack on a steep mountain cliff and hold it there while soldiers load wounded men in the rear??? If this does not impress you ... nothing ever will. Gives me the chills and a serious case of the vertigo ... I can't even imagine having the nerve ... much less the talent…

I am working on putting my first resume together and I'm wandering if anyone can give me some hints on what whould be appropriate to include in it. One thing that I am thinking about is if I should include martial arts teaching experience or not. Some people have told me that it would be good to have becaue it shows initialtive and dedication. Some have told me that employer nowdays don't care about what you do outside of work. If anyone has any idea that could help, it would great. Thanks.

This photo was taken in Feb of 2002, just five months after 9-11. THis cross was found in the rubble and was erected at Ground Zero. Just thought I'd shair it with the fourm. I had a lot of photos from GZ, but this one is my favorite! Just honorably remembering the events of five years ago, on this September 11, 2006

OK I understand differences of opinions, Freedom Of Speach, Can't we all just get along...... but this has me puzzled. There is a movie coming to the US called Death to a President, is this over the top or exceptable now? Watch the video of George Bush being assassinated | the Daily Mail showing GWB being shot at a Chicago event. Back in the Day, in the Military we have protection of the President Protocals and Procedures. Any talk, discussion of harm to the President would be reported to Secret Service. This kind of stuff bothers me, any president, either party. This seems wrong! Am I alone?

I came across this picture and had a very strange effect when you scan your foucus slowly around to different places in the field. Do you see movement or not? Am I alone in this effect? I'm looking for a reason why this happens; any guesses??? Just scan the immage like you are viewing the suttle curve of the small of a Ladies back. Don't focus on any one spot, keep your focal point moving around the image. Can you see the effect? I hope I'm not alone!

Colton Rae arrived one week ago today, 6# 8oz, 19" healthy with LARGE lungs! :)The situation is not good as the mother is not allowing much contact, we've seen him 2times this week. We called to see if we could see him this evening before we head home tomorrow, no answer,no return call. It has been that way for the last 2 months. NOT a pretty situation. Please pray for GOD's will. On a happier note...I was able to attend the SWABA meeting today, (missed you Thomas P) and won the 'Blacksmith's Cookbook" by Francis Whitaker. I just had a gander at Blueprint 292 by Gerald Franklin and was blown away. $700 for a Stetson tittfa . That's $US I presume which makes it about $950 in our money. I shudder at the $AU114 for my trusty Akubra. Seems to me a hat hook is not what is warranted, a locked glass cabinet would be more in order. Where would you wear a hat costing more than an arm and a leg; surely not in the sun where it might fade or in the rain where it might get wet. I s'pose it shouldn't be used for fanning the fire or as a make do water bowl for the dog either. I'm just flabbergasted. By the way, nice hat hook and blueprint Gerald

In the year 2006, the Lord came unto Noah, who was now living in the United States, and said, "Once again, the earth has become wicked and overpopulated, and I see the end of all flesh before me. Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing along with a few good humans." He gave Noah the blueprints, saying, "You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights." Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard -- but no Ark. "Noah!" He roared, "I'm! about to start the rain! Where is the Ark?" "Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed. I needed a building permit. I've…

  16. I'll fess up first rattle out of the box that I'm no wunderkind when it comes to operating computers. Whenever I think I'm going to knuckle down and learn what these things can really do, something always comes up like the need to wash my shoelaces or study ants out on the back sidewalk. I have painted myself into a corner on a couple of projects that are little more complex than I can handle on a napkin or bar coaster. So, what do you that do use for your cad systems?? I need something extremely simple or user friendly, 3-D capable with enough solid modeling capacity to do stereo lithography models off of the files. Sounds pretty simple to me. It's been a few years since…

I know some of you must hunt and spend times outdoors. I have never hunted. I've fished some, but not in a LONG time. One of my grandfathers grew up in Maine and fished quite a bit. I think he hunted some too. My other grandfather definitely hunted, but I don't ever remember him doing so while I was alive. I always hoped that I would get the chance to have them show me some things, but it was not to be. They both passed away before I was old enough to ask to do those things. Now that I live in Kentucky a bunch of people hunt and fish and I've been thinking that I definitely should learn to be self-sufficient in the outdoors. However, I have no clue how to get s…

Got or find a tool that you have no clue as to what it is?. I think we've done this b4 but might have lost it in the "crash". So, lets give it another whirl! I'll light this candle Landlord found this on a new property of his and gave it to me. We have no clue as to what it is or used for. Looks like a bolt cutter at first but evidently does some sort of dimpling or puching by the looks of the jaws.

Ok, this is about as non-blacksmithing as it gets. I have little lizards all in my house. Steve is no help. All he does is laugh when I let out a scream and run into the living room and beg him to kill it. I am not usually afraid of critters and these would be cute if they were not running over my toes when I walk into the kitchen and turn on the light. They are very small, tan and have light purple to pink spots on them. I swear, I have not been drinking any mushroom tea or anything like that. I have heard of people using "snake away" or moth balls or even sulphur to keep snakes out of places. Do you think this would work for lizards? I am about ready to move ou…

The more I read the more I am amazed by the roots, all the way back to Bible times, and the ripples still felt today. and what we owe to these forerunners as so many current proffessions have roots in blacksmithing or related to. ...I was thinking how even speech is effected. It has even worked into common day cliches' or sayings Like "pound it out" or "You've got to forge ahead" and "Strike while the Iron is Hot" I know there are more, What others can we come up with. *A suggestion to those more learned I think it would be great to see a thread on…
