  1. Breakers are sized for the wires used, dont short cut it to save a few dollars, thats how fires happen most installiations require 8ga THHN for 50 amps
  2. and here I come along lol 230 amps is OUTPUT not the draw. which would be more than 99% of what all houses have available. According the the welders back plate I found on the internet, it draws 48 amps max, so connecting to a 30 amp dryer plug will work for most things, the 50 amp stove plug for anything it is capable of doing What plug is on it now?
  3. where did you get the idea that it has to be annealed before forging? looks like you may have burnt it, also 90 minutes it a bit long that causes massive grain growth and damages the steel, as you found out
  4. Didnt you notice the section above called JABOD - Just A Box Of Dirt? but leave out the concrete you dont want that in there
  5. Take a look in the knife making sections for its heat treating information. We have a separate section for blades because of the thickness issues, as well as the unusual steels used in knifemaking, I also agree that your chart is for 1/4 inch thick (6mm) as it states itself on the graph. The other numbers at the bottom are depth removed after heat treatment showing how far they are ground down, which is showing the depth of the decarb layer. Perhaps this is a language thing causing confusion. I lived in Germany in 1978 and made many errors due to language myself so I can understand. Also knowing English has many regional differences only adds to confusion.
  6. You are not the only person reading this thread. Other people need to be aware of the dangers of unsealed koawool. When did you ever say sealed? I said it needs to be sealed, if it is there is no worry. But dont worry about me wont bother you again

  19. one problem with using the wheel that way is the wheel changes shape as you grind, which means so does your fuller channel
  20. the few RR spike blades that are good, at least have a high carbon edge steeled onto them

  22. should work fine for a few things, just not for blades
