November 8, 20178 yr Indeed. There she is. I’ve been working every day since I picked it up, so I haven’t had a chance to clean it up, but when I do (hopefully this weekend), I put up some new pics on here.
November 8, 20178 yr Is it me or does page 12 of this thread now seem inaccessible? It just says “loading” indefinitely both on my phone and my computer.
November 8, 20178 yr I just went there, clicked reload as usual and had no problem. Did you click on reload or just wait for it to happen? BTW I am running Chrome on Windows 10 on this system.
November 8, 20178 yr It does that to me all the time. Clicking up at the top in the search engine, then hitting "search" fixes it for me.
November 9, 20178 yr I just edit the URL to the next page number. Takes less time, clicking the next page button rarely works for me.

November 9, 20178 yr Author I have never seen any Fisher anvils dated 1943 - 1948, or any dated 1952 to 1961. I suspect this anvil and several that I have that have similar markings are from these years. If anyone has a Fisher dated during these years, please post a photo and include the date mark.
November 9, 20178 yr Just bought a 350# fisher for 800.00. Name and weight stamped on it. Made in 1897. Was taken off a ship being scrapped decades ago.
December 26, 20178 yr Author Interesting new FISHER added to the Fisher & Norris Factory Museum: 90 lb, 1915, custom made with the mounting lugs. This is the first Fisher anvil to turn up under 100 lb that has the mounting lugs. Someone wanted the 90 lb size, but with the lugs. So Fisher made one.
January 16, 20188 yr Just snagged this one off craigslist. Has the fisher eagle stamp and 1926 dated... Also has #10 I believe cast in the base (had my friend pick it up for me). What do you think, around 100 lbs or so? Whats the best way to get the rust off of it? Hope to use it as a working anvil, but I am almost afraid to with how perfect the face is.
January 16, 20188 yr Beautiful anvil. Looks like new. WIRE BRUSH ONLY!!!! NO GRINDING! Rub on a little linseed oil afterwards if you wish.
January 16, 20188 yr I claim the best way to shine up the face of an anvil; is to forge red and orange hot steel on it!

January 25, 20188 yr Author Yes, they are out there. This 100 lb late 1950's Fisher was found this morning and brought home to the Fisher & Norris Factory Museum. This anvil is barely used. Most of the original paint is still on it. Too bad someone wire brushed the logo area. But anvils are still to be found. One just has to be ready to go and have cash in hand.
February 24, 20188 yr Author I have begun a limited run of bronze FISHER anvils. I am not sure how many will be made, but this is the start. One almost finished, and four still in need of sanding, filing, stamping, and numbering. I own Fisher & Norris. These are the first FISHER anvils being produced since 1979. 11 1/4 lb. Message me for more information.
March 11, 20188 yr Author 1940 FISHER 100 lb. anvil with original marked F&N stand recently finished for the Fisher & Norris Factory Museum. This combo had a very tough gray paint that took a month to remove. The stand was repainted, the anvil still has some of the factory paint. This is a 98 pt anvil on my grading scale.
