  1. Looks like the same gear box that’s on my Champion midway spiral gear blower. But with a different fan housing.
  2. Very cool! Looking forward to seeing the end result.
  3. Vulcan brand cast iron with a steel face plate.
  4. I had a great time at the meet! Mark Aspery is an amazing demostator! It was a lot of fun.
  5. When I was looking at replacing my small bench top drill press there weren't many used ones for sale in my area. So I did some research and the best one I could find in my price range (around 300$) was the Porter-Cable 12 speed floor drill press. It's a really big improvement over my small craftsman bench top. I especially love the moveable lamp it has. When I bought mine it was around 325$, I just checked on the website and now its 399$.
  6. JT I don't really know anything about boats but that boat looks pretty cool. If Airstream made a boat I imagine that's what it would look like.
  7. Looks similar to the Bulgar anvil sold by old world anvils.
  8. I am curious what is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
  9. Yay! I like listening to it as well. It’s nice having a blacksmithing podcast to listen to.
  10. I don’t listen to it on Spotify but there is a podcast called “The Blacksmiths Pub Podcast” LANGUAGE ALERT and they talked about blacksmithing superstitions. You can find the podcast on their website and on ITunes. Might be the same podcast.,
  11. If you haven’t already you should join the New England blacksmiths.Theres going to be a meet in June and there are always lots of tools for sale. Just look up New England blacksmiths on google.
  12. Hehehe maybe for the first day, then it gets annoying. Then you chain it down!!
  13. I'll add that I also have a Trenton and love it. And they really sing when not chained down!
  14. I got my first anvil of craigslist for about 2 dollars a pound. It is a 150 lb English anvil. I got my second one, a 128 pound Trenton in pretty good condition at a New England blacksmith's meet. It was 2.5 dollars a pound.
  15. Yes but now they are called Fontanini anvils. Look it up on google and you will find them.
