my apprentice that work with me for 4 years a kid 15 to 19 years old is now working for the air force as a turbine mechanic + a crew chief in Valdost Ga on the base right now HE has what I call the NEED for Steel He is a welder & a smith that I have trained here !! Does anyone know of any smiths in this area ?? I can turn him on to ?? Ironwolfforge or IW thanks !! PS this Kid Aston is going places !! in his life He is just starting But !! Built this for a customer there Heavy ! into Golfing & Like Cattail's Cattails are Copper & textured steel stem & leafs are 1/8 x 1/2 FB run through texturing die's The Frame is 1"x2"x1/8"rec tube Bend the Old School was between to pieces of lg pipe welded to my Big 5000.- lb welding table the other Gate is a Copper Tulip & Brass Rose Garden Gate done a few year's ago just to make something Neat ! cause I can

Steve's welding 7018 more than likely will crack though the middle of weld try 110-18 or better rod ! or look it stoody rod book for better rod to use -
anvil repair costs?

I have repair welded over a 100+ anvil's & still do time to time & there done right & there in new condition when I am done ! I had to repair my first PW & it snow balled from there LOL I weld for a living -Thomas is close on time it would take looks more like 15 GOOD Hrs my cost would be around $400. + depending on anvil & that one looks Hurt some dummy with a Torch again !! why people do that is beyond me But I have fixed worse ! Rod Gunther is the way to go & rod is not cheap ! & you use a lot then grind it off LOL -
Interesting tool mig - tig Hum I have done a Ton of tig work in my life ! would like to run one & see ? if they have to x ray a 28 pound set up they need better Tig welders lol

you can also take the sow block off & fill that void with sand also help with noise my ply & rubber mat between hammer & base have a 8" hole in them so I can fill both after I take sow block off

when you get to the point of cutting the sow block down to new size you mite want to ck into a propane ox cutting set up most scrapers that cut thick stuff thats what they use just a thought I have both & think propane cuts cleaner than ac just slower can't push it Steve's Welding

Tell the scraper's to put that wrought off two the side its sell able & not made anymore ! $$ a lot of folks looking for it out there ! as to the scrap thing -- when you Can't fit anymore in the back field or when you're 6'under ?? I think LOL also I have yet to find a group that has the same mental problem that meets locally LOL

Easy fix what you need to find is a clutch throw out bearing & install it there will work much better with one then with out one Old School repair

do you have a tig welder or can get use of one ? rod to use is small OD silicon Bronze or stainless rod 308 or 316L depending on piece -- mite also use copper back bar for heat control need pic to help you better Steve's Welding & Fab -
NO !!! I just used one @ a hammer in to weld a sq stock to billet WHAT a Pain !! next I hook up an old buss box Much better !! & I weld for a living so I can run some junk machines but there junk & theres Real junk !!
