  1. Cold formed with the concrete braker on my skidsteer loader. about 6' tall
  2. I would call them bullpins and the spiked wrench is a spud wrench
  3. With the slow speed and pressure you can put holes into pieces that you can't with a modern drill press. Such as some spring steels
  4. Just go to YouTube and search s7 striking anvil or striking anvil and it will be one of the first videos
  5. Need picks to know what to tell you. A location on where you are would help to might be someone close that can help in person
  6. I have the same blower and yours has all the same looking parts mine has. Yes great blowers.
  7. It's all good I use a 75lb China anvil as a rear weight on our lawn mower because my. Wife is not heavy enough for the mower to get enough traction on our hills.
  8. If you lost a half pound of metal at grinding forge alittle more and it will save you at grinding.
  9. my #1 is redwing 877 but remember when buying good boot you brake your foot into the boot not the boot to your foot. And remember to go alittle tight because leather will I said leather will stretch. One key to braking in is get them wet and ware till dry. Now mostof my boots are slip ons. Easy on easy off. Redwing has a great pare of slip ons. I also like Georgia, Justin, toned lama, Danner and rocky. If you have lace up boots superglue on the laces helps with weld spatter. That is what we would do with all our laces when I was doing high iron.
  10. Pics would be nice we all like to look at pics.
  11. On my big reflinghaus I want to do charcoal grey with candy apple red ghost flames. Or jet black with charcoal and candy apple ghost flames. Only problem is my tool colors are yellow and black. But I guess I have enough bumble bees in the shop I can branch out some. Free wheeler have you retried the ball Bering test? Some times if there is paint on the face that can hamper the rebound.
  12. Donniev bring that hammer on Sunday and we will put it to work. Might have a friend for it to go home with too!!
  13. will work. cast anvil don't see many southern crescents.

    Vise ?

Looks like another version of a cole vise. Just missing the mounting bracket
  15. I always have a 2-3 lb hammer in the truck with in reach. Can't get into trouble for a concealed weapon. But can be very effective if needed. Some might think barbarian or just not right. Hey it's my Irish roots. If there is on other way and it comes down to a fight you win at all cost and you do what ever you can to win. There are no rules and there is no referee you go primal. Maybe if it ever got that far they would be nice enough to let me paint my self blue like the Irish warriors I come from.
  16. Would get them both. Try and get them cheaper. The rivit forge looks like it was a pump handle forge that at some time someone put the hand crank on. The little knob with the hole in it on the side of the forge is where the handle yolk was bolted on. Still great little forge but might help with price do to not everything being original. Buffalo looks good too.
  17. Happy birthday Pete, have fun be crazy be with people you love doing what you love and here's to many more!
  18. Troy Ray thank you for your service and your sacrifice!!! You make our life right and livable. I wish you all were closer to Nebraska. Again thank you!! I know it is not much more than words and it does not help your kids. If there is any help I can give I will you gave your life and skills for me to be abl to do what I want. This goes to all vets.
  19. Yes I have done a couple of walls this way with different patterns. Have also done a bar down town. The wall in the pic all the case work is steel strapping. All the case work in that house is steel.
  20. Scrapartoz it is under construction right now. Here are a couple pics of what I do. stone and steel table cold form with skid steer and concrete braker 4.5' bad pic but it is a 30' mild steel wall hand grinder for texture auto clear coat. metal and alder burl table family tree.
  21. Very cool and it is always cool learning where people come from. I also like more of the art realm of metal work. Mine is more on the modern/contemporary sculpture side. Really love your work. The horse and rider and the seamstresses are absolutely amazing.
  22. Hay Budden was one of the best with finishing their anvils. Or in other words the best at hiding their weld lines. Don't belt sand it if any thing hair it with a 120 grit flapper wheel on a 4 1/2" grinder gust to brake the surface. But with using it you can do the same thing. My thoughts would be just use it.
  23. In your 2nd pic on the upper and the right side you can see what looks to be a raised rim. About a 1/4" or 3/8th" for the width. It would of been around the intire base at one point. Hay Budden was the only makers to do this that I know of.
  24. Looks like a canedy Otto great forges!! The legs screwed in. Most of the one I have seen and restored where a pipe leg bent and threaded. You can make your own clinker breaker if you want
  25. I like the fact that Pete takes as much time developing the handle as he does the head of the hammer. They are one of a kind hammers to use! Amen Brother Amen
