I like what all are saying. A little info on why the question, a guild in town that works out of a museum shop had a great and very disciplined 10 year old that was always with his dad and been going to meetings and open forges for 5 months get kicked out because he was under the 16 year age limit that was set after he had already been going for three or four months. I am tring to get others input to help the director of the museum find out what other group do.

For all of you that are in a blacksmithing group what is the starting age that you allow at a meeting or a hammer inn. 5,10,16.... Assuming that the younger are with a parent or guardian. a group near me is having a problem with this and I am looking for what other groups allow. MattO

Tiger is canedy otto's econo line they would use as a price point blower. Would usually sell in Sears, Montgomery Wards. Nice blowers. I have restored 4 of them and still have 3. Very smooth runners. This is the first one I have seen with the bent angle iron legs. Mine have all had the bent rolled pipe legs. Internals are about the same as the western chief and the stamped canedy Otto blowers. But all the Tigers I have seen are just marked with a name on the mounting bracket. And no names on the blower housings. They also just had plugs instead of the fancy brass valves.

I will see what I can get off my old computer. This sculpture is 1/4" plate. Shaped then welded together. I will see what ever else I can find. This is 1/4" plate this is 3/8" plate

Austin I use the jack hammer that attaches to my skid steer loader as a power hammer. I can dish a 5/16"x 2'x2' plate in less than 7 min. I have also made some different dies for it.

Thefng you can pm Jacob's hammer on here he is also from Lincoln. There is also the prairie blacksmiths that is nebraska's abanna chapter of blacksmiths. There are a lot of guys in the Lincoln and Omaha area. There is a professional smith that lives out side Bennet his name is Jim he is on 120th. The PBA has good coal. Jim stocks some for us. If I'm headed that way I can bring you some. There are a few guys on here that are in Lincoln so hopefully they will reach out. You are always welcome if you get to Kearney.

Don who was the Nebraska blacksmith that first had your 25, my wife's great grandpa started in 08 and his son sold his hammer in 1975. They were from Shelton Nebraska.

Sign me up for the freaken awesome!! I like the skull on its own more but it does look good on the wheel. Maybe you can implant a couple small propane burners in side the skull and then it will have flames for your patio in stead of a wood burner. Be like Ghost Rider.

I think he is from Indiana that is still in the United States. We know Texas has a hard time remembering that do to they have always wanted and tried to be their own country.

Smoggy you are right on turn the handle and it turns the wheel while moving the bar with the thumb screws side to side. randy makes sense. Would you grit the wheel like you grit older buffing wheels?

Is there anything I can do to help with what it is and how it was/is used? Different pics or different angles? I don't know what a lapping plate is?

Peter and Spanky is it missing something that goes under the two thumb set screws?? I have no clue what it was used for. To neat to let go to the scrap pile. It will be my next clean up project. Randy do you know what the fixture that would hold the blades would look like?
