Frosty Passes

Featured Replies

I think the best way we can honor his memory here is to keep telling good stories, questioning comments to understand better, and to be generous, kind and a bit curmudgeonly. I hope we can honor his memory, and all those who passed, by keeping this community kicking.

I read this earlier on Monday, through another thread. Did not have the words, then.

Frosty, rest easy. Know that you touched a lot of people and helped them on their journey with whatever knowledge you could provide, for sure you helped me and it pains me to have to dump these thoughts in this thread. You will be missed.

Dang. I haven't swung a hammer in a couple of years (because complications) but I've been watching here as much as I can. Frosty was a fount of knowledge and kind enough not to laugh at my early attempts.

Frosty on December 28: "We only have so much time and we don't know when it's up."

Rest well, Frosty.

I found this forum in 2015. I haven’t been back on until this morning. I am looking for wrought iron for some project and I was guided back here.
Frosty has always stated on my mind since then. He was willing to share his knowledge with anyone of us and didn’t sugar coat anything. I learned all about t-burners from his posts here.
May he rest in peace and his family find comfort with him gone.

RIP Frosty, I consider you one of my mentors and you will be greatly missed.

Oh my god I am did not expect that I log on yesterday for the first time in a while  and just was to shocked to say anything I can’t believe it

Been out due to surgery and just found this. I don't have words to express it, but it hits deep every time we lose one of the guys that have been here forever. I'll miss you a lot, Frosty. Ringing the anvil for you.

He was the first to greet me, and made me feel welcome. I’ll be forever grateful for his generosity.

I've only just checked the threads at the bottom of the site and what terrible news to hear.

Frosty was always willing to help and give his time so others can learn and was so generous with the advice and help he gave. It wont quite be the same without him.

My deepest condolences to his family and may he rest in peace

I missed his postings in the last time, and now I have to accept: sad news, even shocking, and a big loss for his family, but for this community too. In an old thread frosty once shared his idea(l) about humans, initiated by the author Robert A. Heinlein:

“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”

If there ever was am man meeting these criteria, it’s him. Talented in very many (and very different) ways, and always willing to share - with those willing to listen. My condolences to his family, and my sincere thanks, Mr. Frosty, for all your efforts…

I never spoke directly with Frosty but his posts and replies were what drew me to this forum. Literally his opinion on what we’re doing now was the only reason I made a profile. You are missed Frosty.

How did I miss this?  This is a big loss.  God speed, and the deepest of condolences to his family.   When I get home I'll ring the anvil for him.

Sad news indeed.

I never had the chance and privilege of meeting him in person, but his words will be remembered.

Rest well. My thoughts to his family.

Arthur

After Glenn , he was second guy who I asked for tips and shared messages , he will be missed.

I visit forum rarely , but I saw on Facebook page that Frosty passed away, connected dots and it's him on forum , same nick.

Devastating news to hear we lost Frosty. He was loved, will be missed, but live forever in the lives he touched. Will miss you my friend.

As a relative newbie here, I don't know the people of the community well.  However, Frosty was active in most of the threads I participated in and he was very welcoming to me.  Rest in peace, Frosty.  You will be missed.

I've been on and off here for a few years now. I always appreciated Frosty's reprimands. I always knew that he actually had my best interest in mind. He was a very likeable guy in so many ways. Eternal rest Jerry.

My inbox is full now of people who passed away , knowledge stay in those messages , I don't know how should I feel and what wise and honorable to say, that is reason I come here rare when I look at those messages now , it is sad and depressing a bit.

I think I will continue posting here my progress so other can learn from me and I learn from others, like Frosty did shared his knowledge with me that was passed to him from other folks.

Excuse my grammar or some mistake in language , English is not my native language.

Very well said Nat, your sentiment is understandable and authentic. This craft passes through each of us. Frosty was one of the less common ones who was good at both learning and teaching. Continuing to post your progress is a great way to honor the craft and Frosty.

Long time lurker, first post ever. I haven’t been on the forum for a few months and just saw this.
With all the noise and keyboard experts out there, Frosty was one of the online voices that I relied on for good information. He was more than generous  in sharing his wealth of knowledge.
Though I have never had the honor of meeting him, or exchanging messages, I feel a profound loss. He inspired and made an impact on more people than anyone will know.
Condolences to his family.
May he rest in peace.

My deepest condolences.

Learned a lot from him. His knowledge, wisdom, and generosity in helping others will live on through all he inspired.
