Admanfrd
Haiya guys. This morning i decided that i love a refflinghaus (i think that's the spelling) anvil pattern with a hardy next to the horn. so, what's your favorite pattern? anvilfreak
Its difficult to decide, i love them all, im collecting anvils, have 58 by now. Hay budden, peter wright, john brooks, etc etc. They are like children to me.

jmccustomknives
Since I live in a neighborhood I like my Fisher, a lot. :D I save my Kohlwasha for the demo's, it's ring calls for miles. :o
njanvilman
Of course you know my answer: The classic FISHER London pattern. Although I have never met an anvil I didn't like, except for Vulcan's(cheap Fisher wannabe). I do like the Hay Budden classic forged shape and quality. Foundryman
I love the Austrian pattern ones, which i believe are sometimes referred to "church window anvils" though I've never seen one in the flesh. They're very common in my other half's homeland so I'm hoping she can source one for me one of these days. I found this photo on google to show the style i mean. ThomasPowers
depends on the job; I love my 500+ pound fisher for heavy hitting; but the thick heel is lousy for doing forks where my 91 pound A&H sings a merry tune doing them!
cheftjcook
Not to be funny..But what ever one I can make time to enjoy right now!!!
quint
Once I save up some cash I am looking at getting a bigger fisher. I love my soderfors but would like to have a big fisher for the sound aspect. My 200lb soderfors does a wonderful job though.
marcusb
Ditto on the South German double horn with upsetting block AND a side table. I don't own one yet either. But I will by next month. Jakesshop
I see you have been in contact with Bernhard :) We've been working together on importing 10,000+ pounds of blacksmithing stuff from Germany for the last two months. I'll be storing it for him once it gets here next month (I hope). I get first pick of the shipment before he puts anything up for sale. There have been several delays between the shipper and customs, hopefully on time now.
Frank Turley
I used my 250# Trenton for about 35 years, a very nice anvil with sweet lines. Then I got a good deal on a 250# Fontanini. I now use the Fontanini, but kept the Trenton for student use. They are both fine anvils. The pyramidal horn on the Fontanini is handy. fluidsteel
South German double horn with upsetting block, yes please! I love my Fishers. But a work of art like an old German or Austrian double horn is my dream anvil.
Frosty
My 125lb. Sorceress #5 Soderfors. That surprise anyone? Painfully loud ring on a wood block but the steel stand makes it only loud, not damaging loud. I love my 206lb. Trenton but the Soderfors is my #1 any day. Frosty The Lucky. VaughnT
The best anvil is a Fisher anvil. Not only do they have super-sexy lines, but the are known to make you a better smith simply by being in the same room with them. Much good mojo! Stephen Olivo
Well I can only speak for mine but it rocks. I love it. I know someone else whose friend loves his vulcan as well and managed to get I think it was a 300 lb vulcan that he loves also.
