I found this old anvil today in an old mans back yard.. He gave it to me, with a few other odds and ends. Very happy with my catch of the day Must be very old ,date stamp 1898 Weight about 40kg

Hi Jacques. Yes, the axes are from Tiaan, Neels, Hylton, and the other two damascus steel axes i got from a friend overseas.

ASMEsecIX prices differ a lot, from cheap to rediculously expensive. Ive seen them going anything from R15/kg to R60 /kg. The exchange rate at the moment is about 1$=R10.50 Thanks Caotropheus. What is ASO'S

Its difficult to decide, i love them all, im collecting anvils, have 58 by now. Hay budden, peter wright, john brooks, etc etc. They are like children to me.

Yes Utaholdiron and Ianinsa. It is an (ore cart, mine trolley,cocopan). I have 3 of them. Will upload pic tomorrow, its to dark now for a pic. I collect all kinds of stuff, anvils, old mining tools and equipment, axes and knifes.

Got this anvil and wooden stand today. 100 lb. A little bit rusty on the sides, cant find any markings on it as yet, but the face is in an excellent condition.

No, although its painted, the owner said its still in its original state. Very little use. Face is in an excellent condition, bounce back with ball bearing is 90% +

Thanks for the detail Jim! I really appreciate it. Hi Ian, im a trucker and i travel a lot and i keep my eyes and ears wide open for anvils and old tools. You will be surprised as to where i find anvils. Sometimes they are right there under our noses and we dont know it. In fact they are everywhere and not that hard to find. Regards..... Thanks for the comments. It really breaks my heart to see an anvil in that condition. As a collector ( got over 60 anvils) i will make them an offer and give it a safe home and retirement. ......lol
