  1. Thanks to you, the forge is hot. In March we opened our first donation drive in years. Since then, members have asked if they can contribute to the site now. Yes, you can! Donate Here When you donate, we'll enable the gloriously green forum badge that tags you as a supporter. If you've donated and haven't tagged as a donor, please message Glenn with your email address and we'll turn it on. March's original donation drive allowed us to purchase server hardware and licensing that cut our monthly bill in half! We renewed IForgeIron.com until 2030. Then June we launched the major update to the forum. Since IForgeIron is a very big forum, updates like those are big ordeals. Your donations covered the coffee on those stressful all nighters. IForgeIron's email server was also revamped. We send out a lot of emails. We threw the kitchen sink at the server to ensure emails went through to AOL, Gmail, and Yahoo perfectly. Here are a few things on the site we'll use your new donations for: Renewal: Anti-spam services Renewal: Domain Names Hardware: Extra hard drives for extra backups. Server: Monthly Bills. Though they're lower, they still exist. Your donations go directly into keeping the lights on. Any amount helps. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
  2. This year is I Forge Iron's 20th Anniversary. In our modest kitchen over a gallon of sweet tea, Glenn and I took our first steps and created I Forge Iron. That was in 2001. A lot has changed since then. We've keep up with the changes and grown with the internet. To bring us into the next decade, we're asking for your help. Donate Here Our immediate needs: $200 for server software licensing. $200 for general software licensing. $200 $100 for domain renewals (multiyear). $20 for drinks when things go wrong. $20 for drinks when things go right. Our stretch goals: New Server Hardware New Camera equipment Restructuring the Blueprints section Since COVID, more people are using cellphones. Now, every day's traffic looks as if it were a weekend. We've already done a lot of the work already. In January, we moved server systems completely. Unlike other websites we don't run a store. We have very limited advertising (and even recommend ad-block). We run this as a hobby. We aim to archive our craft and get you information to bring back to your shop. On our original donation drive, we renewed our domain for 10 years to show you our commitment. We hope to do that again. With your help, we'll be in a good place heading into the summer. Any amount helps. Thanks! Send Glenn a PM for the snail mail address if you would like to donate that way. Thanks goes out to those who have donated so far.
  3. Consider this a 4K video blueprint. I went to Jymm Hoffman's shop and filmed how to forge a frying pan. Here's a 10 minute instruction video: Video contains some short scenes that may be objectionable to some viewers. Please forgive the PUBG references, our YouTube audience is much younger. What do you all think?

Greetings.  I am mining old threads for information to get grounded before asking questions which past communications will answers.  Pictures embedded with these threads appear to be disabled.  Is there a method of recovering these pictures?  Any guidance appreciated.

    Regards.  David S.

  5. Mostly snakes. However a cricket kept me company with his chirps tonight.
  6. Dance your cares away, worries for another day. Let the music play, down at Fraggle Rock!

  7. Heading to my first punk house show of the year.

  8. I have no clue what company delivers at 8am, but I will enjoy the morning PG Tips I ordered.

  9. I never realized how many of my friends only know one language until I started learning more.

  10. ...and I feel fine.

  11. Great photos, good stuff.
  12. It's a rumor. I Forge Iron now pushes out over 2,500,000 pageviews a month, which requires more focus on the technical end. After last night, we'll be refocusing on the Blueprints soon.
  13. This upgrade is straight forward. We're switching login systems. The Blueprints being offline are a another story. I'll post an update on the Blueprints soon. The advantage is one login. Also, you do not need to like us on Facebook. I put the banner up to remind people we are on there as well. I'll take it down in a few days. Everyone is affected.
  14. I Forge Iron is expanding. As a result, we are changing the way we handle login authentication. We ask you check you account so we can fix any problems before the upgrade. Please make sure your login information is current. A ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. One reason for this, is I Forge Iron now has a store and we'll be introducing an SSL (encryption). The upgrade, which will be rolled out soon, will allow users to login via email or username. Across multiple sites even. Members stuck as, "Awaiting validation" will be deleted. These are people who signed up, often spammers, but never confirmed their email address. Make sure your email address is correct! you may find your account is closed if not current
