  1. This is a project that we have been working on for sometime now !! on & off were talking a long time Its been a fun project & a strong learning curve for both of us, its not done yet we still have to mount it on its 4' sea weed base soon I hope lol The pieces is made totally out of SS plate Hot formed into tube's & Tig welded as needed the Tig was also used to build up any area's to be grinded to form / shape like the ridge's on the clam shell I will post pic's of it when it's done down the road I am also looking for a prehistoric name for it ?? any Idea's on what to name out there ???
  2. can you weld & do you have a welder ? ck & see if tip area is weldable then build it back up & grind it to shape OR take it to a weld shop & let them ck it out -- some cast Iron anvils will weld up with a GOOD 220 V wire feed if there's more steel than cast in the mix Ive fix 2 like that --- So you never know till you try ! to weld it Steve's Welding
  3. Reading Creek if you're looking to have that anvil fix right down the road I can do that I have fixed alot of anvils all around Ca & other states ! How about a pic to see what you have ?? AND where are you ??? located AT !! ? were NOT ! talking about a truck coming to fill you're tank !!!! that's another thing STILL whats that cost ?? per gal I am not talking wt or Lb as for tanks costing less or more $$ cause of size ?????????? it's per gal in CA . on the west coast here in crescent city $ .80 in the last 60 days & still going are gas reg $ 3.80 down from & 450 GEE WOW ? propane @ 2.80 per gal today

A friend of mine made his metal base out of 8" or 10" channel can't remember witch on the height & filled with cement put it on a horse pad & bolted it down works real good MUCH !! better than the wood logs Tom used and this hammer was Toms old hammer in his shop the new owner is taking good care of it :) OH & I can go use it to

  16. A friend of mine has a Saymac & needed it 8" or 10" higher off the floor we took some channel & welded up a box put in Re-bar welded bolts on lip to bolt hammer to filled with very dense concrete its still going good no problems with, it cut the hammer noise down a bit to
  17. Thats central Calif - Northern Ca is @ least 6 Hrs MORE + North ! & someday maybe called Jefferson State LOL ! we have trees :<) just for the folks that are not from Ca GOOD video though !
  18. *** DANGER !!! I disagree with smootBore Just filling a tank with water can not be enough at times !!! YOU can trap fumes inside = AIR pocket / explosive fumes , a baffle or other things can cause this air pocket you think you're safe when youre NOT ! and BOOM if you find that FUME pocket , though all that water will put out any fire's around :<( Cutting or welding on tanks is not a job for most folks !!! Unless you KNOW what your doing & are set up to do it Safely Rule #1 your first mistake WILL be your last one !! you don't get a second chance !!!!!!!!!!!!! Rule # 2 IT can go BOOM !!! get my point ! I do cut tanks when I have to ! its not something I prefer to do ! its not worth the risks ! even done right ! and I don't tell folks how to cause of the risks!! & they don't listen or have Eqt that I have or the no how ! PS that being said I still DON'T like cutting or welding on gas tanks or such ! If you go Boom you don't get paid so why LOL STEVE'S Welding & Fab
  19. welding alum boats is NOT a walk in the job ! arc rod not going to work unless you're WAY better than most GOOD welders ! you need tig & wire feed set ups depending on what your welding on the boat also on tig sometime you cant use foot pedal cause your up inside it LOL so your choice is have someone else run the foot petal for you WITCH is really FUN !!! or have a tig torch that has a adjustable power switch on it & you use your fingers to control it learn curve there to ! also its an inside the shop job, out of the wind cause of the argon gas needed !! right rod for that kind of job is 5356 I do this kind of work often and its not easy & I have everything I just said and then some ! I would take it to a boat welder if its just small holes to fill should be easy with RIGHT Eqt Steve,s Welding & Fab
