Its that thing you made to do something and you said it'll save some money and your wife wondered why you just didnt pay someone to do it for you and she thinks you'll hurt yourself and now you need to take her out to dinner cause she worried about you all day and there goes the money you saved from not hiring anyone.

If you wanted to get super fancy you could use a small turbo and run your fuel/air mix thru one side of the turbo while using a elec blower on the other side to run the turbine. You would get the mixing action and forced air you need. The catch is you'll need to build a oiling system for the turbo and drive a oil pump or the turbo will fry its bearings. Would that much effort be worth it though? My guess is no. Would be uber cool...

If we are trying to get a better gas to air mix, I would try a form of annular booster arrangement. Or maybe force the mixture thru a screen.

I was in the shop last night taking apart air line fittings. I'd had enough of needing a fitting only to find its on some arrangement I made up some time back so I was breaking everything down and she was watching and telling me about her terrible day. She finally claimed I was making her dizzy from all the turning and wanted to know what was doing. When I told her I was organizing and shes a neat freak..well..my night got a little better, wink.

"Soft coal" is the coal that is desired for smithing. It'll go really fast if your pushing too much air to it.

If your looking for a "tube" to use a forge body an air tank from sears or Harbor freight will usually only set you back $25 and all you'll have to do is slice one end off and you'll end up with your forge body and door. It'll already have a carry handle and legs. New metal paint cans are $5 at paint supply stores check your yellow pages. There was an ad recently in the tailgating section a guy was selling railroad track by the foot. Check with your metal supplier about buying a 8" solid round 2ft chunk. that would make a nice anvil.
