  1. Well the propane lovers are wayyyy overdue on this thread. They will be along to explain how coal/coke is bad.... lol
  2. 8 hour drive! Hope you buy a ton! Or maybe find a local club that sells buy the bag.
  3. Is that a bag of Cowboy Charcoal lying in the background?
  4. The old rule when buying compressors is take your current requirement and double it then buy accordingly. Now I know from experience this "old rule" can create a serious expense quickly. So where does that leave us? Well you have to look at your budget first. Define what you can afford in a compressor. Then figure out what is the best thing in that price range. Air compressors are all about you get what you pay for. Remember cast iron is the best for a pump. If your going to be running an air hammer look for the words "continuous duty" otherwise you will destroy the pump in short order.
  5. Just a suggestion.. Enclose the bottom. Take off the top and fill it with sand. Then make a floater board for a top that sits on the sand. then you can adjust the height of your anvil.
  6. YouTube - Japanese Swordsmith Matsuda Tsuguyasu Part 1
  7. Those were used by the Italian Army to make pizzas for the troops during WW2. A battalion of personal pizzas no problem...
  8. Any tips on forging leafs? I made a few spear points and mini knives today trying to make leafs.
  9. BTW... I don't own a jeep. As a plank owner in the Big Boys club I can only ride in pickups and full size sedans. In case your wondering how big.... Life starts for me at XXL, or better yet...anything less than a 12lb sledge is a toy. Now if I can get someone to buy my Hofi 3lb hammer so I can buy a 4lb one...
  10. 4 coil springs from a 2008 Jeep Wrangler.
  11. Nice and simple! Give that man a barley pop. And another to the person that did the video.

  13. Actually users report that the tool is a air hog. Let me use the search feature..brb
  14. If you look at the sprayers that pottery places sell for ITC you'll see that they are selling a bead blasting gun as a "sprayer".
  15. Couple guys here have a KA75. I'm sure one or two will be along to fill you in. You understand that its a striker and not a power hammer, meaning one pedal push gets you one hit vs a power hammer where holding the pedal down gives repeated strikes.
  16. Andrew good luck. I'm sure it will all click after another forging session or two.
  17. I took one 16ft 2x12 cut up and sandwiched with glue/screws on a 1.5" stagger. The stagger allows more stability and creates nice notches for hammers to live in. Wrapped it all in a 1"x1/4 band.
  18. I would have used his for the weekend and returned tues or weds. Sounds like he made it right. I had the same problem with a 20lb tank turned out the propane camp stove had a check valve in the POL fitting end. I'm assuming to keep dirt n critters out. 2 min with a mini screwdriver fixed that problem.
  19. 1aretea, It's going to depend on what you can "scrounge" vs what you'll have to pay for. Try hitting a steel supplier for drops in the 5" or larger range. Get a 3ft piece and cap it with some decent steel (S7, 4140) and you'll have a nice anvil. Just weld it to a 1" plate base.
  20. They do a number on dry cut saw blades too. Will never make that mistake again. Abrasive, torch, plasma are the best bets. You can do some neat stuff with them though. Never had a problem welding the stuff.
