Charles R. Stevens
that reminds me of the traditional wool carpet Weever’s philosophy of insuring each rug has one flaw, as “God is the only one perfect”. Sometimes it’s the flaws in a person and their works that lend character (not that we are lacking in characters here).

Frosty
I avoid GPS. It drives Deb crazy but I can read a map even if I'm counting curves and using my Brunton to navigate. I could take solar sightings with a Brunton but I'd have to dig out one of my books for instructions and the tables. If a solar flare messes up taking solar sightings I'm going to start digging, not that it'd do any good. Maybe some of you with a cave or mine within a few seconds running time will make it. You'll need at least 3' of soil overhead, preferable damp or wet soil. Frosty The Lucky.
Scott NC
Oops, I edited my comment while Jerry was posting. I was talking about GPS, solar flares and what not. Sorry.
George N. M.
Jerry, I use my brunton around the house fairly often. I just used the inclinometer to level a picture the other day. I do need to send mine off to the Brunton Company in Riverton, WY because the needle is getting a bit sticky. I always have Martha's as a backup. Frosty
I don't use mine a lot but it sure comes in handy when I do. Have you used yours with a laser pointer? I wish I had one of the professional models we used on the drill crew but even the home editions are serious tools. Frosty The Lucky. Glenn
Rule # 1: 90% of the decisions you make don't matter so just make one. You are bound to be right 90% of the time, and a fair decision today is better than a perfect one tomorrow. Rule # 2: 10% of the decisions you make do matter, and that is why we trained you, to know the difference. Delaying a decision needlessly can often turn what was a 90% decision into a 10% decision, so just make a decision".
