  1. fasten your anvil down tight, it reduces the ring. So does magnets, chain, some people like to put silicon down under the anvil. If I had the choice it would be the peddinghaus.

  6. What I meant was you have to make sure the blade is clean from the oil, and free of finger prints before tempering, or it can throw off the temper colors.

  8. Also finger prints and oil will alter the color of the oxides.
