  4. went to an auction today. came home with a canedy-ott hand blower, royal western chief. $35.00 with original stand

  6. Curly, Pretty neat job. I like it. I have had some folks after me to make one up with a draft horse on it. Still in the thinking stage. Seldom
  7. nothing to be ashamed of here. nice work for first time. it will only get better.
  8. it is an axle off of some type machine. when i was a kid we used them all the time to stake out critters on a chain. chain had a big loop on one end and the axle was slide through it then driven into ground with sledge hammer. nothing ever pulled them out.
  9. well right off the bat, my wife accused me of watching ballet because of the sound track  was a very interesting video. i really liked how there was no wasted motion there, every movement had a reason and if was just great to watch.
  10. Teebs, The possibilities are endless. Use the shoes as if they were just a piece of iron and heat and hammer any way you want them. you can make candle holders, hoof picks, shoe horns, just about anything
  11. mike, bosox, camero68, thanks for the comments seldom
  12. have seen a couple of these. it is as stated earlier from a wheel turning but the engine not going anywhere. usually when this happens some people get pretty upset and the person that caused it gets some time off with no pay.
  13. i went last year for the first time but cant make it this year because of family obligations :( ptree, bad decription, too many guys like you, bibs and grey hair :)
  14. the pads for the heavier machines are completely separate from the rest of the floor. and no heat lines near them, shouldnt be a problem at all. i helped put the pads in.
  15. i would line it and use it. nice catch. cant tell you how old it is but is most likely not a teenager anymore. i had one like that that i carried in my truck when i was shoeing horses in the 70s.
  16. Sorry thats not possible any longer. I gave the lamp to a friend that is battling breast cancer while she was at the fair. just one more thing to think about in the future. thanks
  17. this is the first time I have entered a competition. got a second and i am fine with that. one of the problems that i spotted after it was over is that the lamp shade covers up the hand forged peice that i put on it. i used a 3/16 x 1 flat bar, put a twist in it and put a fishtail scroll on the end. the hole for the lamp assembly was hot punched. i try to incorporate a hand forged piece in all of my lamps. any comments, have at it. dick
  18. nice for your first time. learning curve is starting to grow. keep it up.
