Jerry The fish is 39 inches long and about 14 inches deep, top to bottom. To put the scales in scale it would be the size of a whale.,

recent project
Here is a recent project that i completed before Christmas. My son asked me to make a fish out of horseshoes but i didn't like that idea too much. So this is what i came up with. It was a gift for a friend of his that really likes to fish. To say he was stunned by is an understatement as well. His kids flipped out. I was very happy how it all turned out.

Advice on a used "American" (?) anvil
I have a 178 lb trenton that looks very much like this one, even to the sway back. sway back not a problem, as stated earlier, good for straightening long pieces. looks ok to me

Working in the shop in the winter.
i generally start the wood stove in the morning when i go out feed my horses. after an hour or so the shop has most of the chill taken out of it and then i steal wood coals to start my forge. as frosty says, "easy, peasy". '

Getting your shop ready for cold weather.
