  1. looks like a fun project, nicely done. how did the bride like it?
  2. this trivet is the first one that i made with our forge master. it took more than one session but came out pretty good. i have orders for a couple mor but so far havent got my but in gear to do them, soon though. christmas is coming. nice job, better than mine. 1/2 inch stock, right?
  3. In 1970 when I was shoeing horses I picked up a 102 lb. Peter Wright for 40.00 In 2012 i picked up a 178 lb. Trenton for 250.00 Both are set up and used in my shop
  4. look good on the horse and it appears that they will work just fine.
  5. stuart, it appears that you have run into the horn of your anvil a couple of times. ouch.
  6. will give a neat texture to your work
  7. i have used wd40. works pretty slick.
  8. if this was in my shop i could not help but scratch his neck every time i walked by, much as i do my own living horses.
  9. andrew, dont worry about the grace being lost, i agree. however what you are seeing is what a horse under tack appears like. if and whenever the owners decide to remove the tack as you stated the grace will reappear. this is awsome. thanks so much for sharing this with all of us. seldom
  10. nicely done, miss rocky. keep listening to dad, he will help you go a long ways. just keep heating and hammering. :)
  11. they are "cool". looks like they will work fine. nice work.
  12. andrew, this is awesome. i have a lot of emotion looking at this. can't say enough good things so i will just say "outstanding job". seldom
  13. nice looking anvil for less than a buck a pound. what a deal.
  14. seems to me it boils down to this: is it comfortable for you and can you get your work done? anything beyond that is much tadoo about nothing. just my 2 cents.
  15. greg, i use a wisk broom for a mop. one of the small ones that generally get used in cars. made of straw. just dip in slack tub and shake where you want it. works pretty good for me.
  16. andrew, this makes my heart beat a little faster every time i look at the progress. i have been around horses proffesionally and backyard for over 50 years and you have hit the nail on the head so to speak. waiting for the finished product. seldom
  17. vaughnt, on the other side of the shield there are several trays for drills and oil, etc. frosty, yes it is a variable speed, has a leather belt 2" wide by 1/4" thick. i have dealt with drill press angst for a couple of years using a hand drill and a cheap bench model. this should cool my jets for a while. thanks
  18. this drill press was headed towards the scrap yard. owner helped load it on his trailer and i brought it home. another neihbor had a forklift and it went in my shop tonight. cost, 0
  19. very neat and great workmanship. looks like a lot of fun.
  20. hope you were having a bad day when this was posted. not a good way to encourage questions or answers. just because someone doesnt give thier life history doesnt mean they dont know anthing.
