try using a couple of rail road spikes ...you'll have more than enought to draw them out to 15-16 inches or so
  9. The reason the jaws don't meet squarely is the pivot joint has play in it . the rest of the problems can be taken care of with a good file...how does the screw look?

  11. I put a piece of 2" angle iron in my machinist vise and use a C clamp to hold the knife blank for draw filing..
  12. that would work good if you vented it up ypur side draft hood from the bottom would keep and up draft going I would think as a side note a sewing machine motor would work good as a blower motor with a dimmer switch
  13. when you blow it up it appears to be the weight per foot of flats and round stock. the pages look the same to me!

  18. a lot of the tools that harbor freight sales have AC motors of the universal brush type that could be adapted to use as a blower motor...you don't see many brush type motors anymore
  19. Grainger here in the US sales a Speed Controls for Universal type AC/DC motors ...says use only with universal brush-type motors cost is $40 -$50
  20. Try one of the RR bolts with the head cut off and a handle welded on...makes a nice header also I've found that to take a file and put a radius on the top side of the square hole the nails release better..don't get hung up
  21. just picked up a Miller 625 it only uses 75 lb of compressed air and is suppost to cut up to 5/8 I only tried 1/2 ...slow. They say a torch is better for larger stuff
  22. does it have Na2B4O7 on the label or Anhydrous borax, dehydrated borax, disodium tetraborate...if so then yes
