Nah they are just in off season, they come back every year an sometimes fix up an reuse the old ones

Onetreeforge.  That is a really nice drill you have there..  2 actually.. Is that a Champion 201?

Not sure, a quick google suggests a 201

We have those mud wasp things but they are nowhere as bad as those ones, they will fill up the odd bolt hole or your raincoat

They go on horse yokes or trees. Used to find them once in a while metal detecting. Then at an auction I wound up getting a pile of old trees/yokes for cheap.

You still find em all over around here in old barns and around old home stead sites

Thanky you both.  I guess I have just never ran across one before.  I'm always learning something.  :)

Got this Champion post drill on wensday

I really like the iron in your window.

I've made a few singletree clips. Cool forging

I love a good question. :) While I was aware of hardware on horse harness and wagon-like stuff this is a detail I didn't know. Cool.

Frosty The Lucky.

I use my one of my "trees" to hang a skeleton in my shop. He was mouthy, insulting and deserves it.

My antique drill press needs excavating before I can snap a picture of it. I would like to try it out some day.

Here's a Champion post drill I got going over the last few months, a $40 find at a local auction.

I had to make a new table and turn a handle for it.

If you've made a few, are they still single?

Mayby double tree's?  Triple?  Quadruple?  Etc....

I dint know about them, but I am,,,

The ones I made were shaped like your and TW's original pics, the rusty red one,,, They were oval and the center ridge was solid and flat on the inside, not raised or sunk depending on how you look at it. I made mine from round stock, drew out the oval leaving the centerline ridge and forge welded the ends to complete the ring.
