Evening Update: Just talked to Clara. Stan has lack of appetite. He walked twice around the ICU unit today. He will remain in ICU a little longer since they are having problems regulating his heart rate. He still has the pacemaker they installed the day of surgery.

  • Bless Stan! I am late posting, but my prayers have not been late! I will continue in prayers for Stan, his wife, family, and friends. I figure he may as well go ahead and get better and not waist a

Thank you for the up-date Red Hot 77

I would feel lost if I was not able to keep up with how Stan is doing at this time.
Although I live hundreds of miles away, my thoughts bring this situation very close to me, and I am ever aware and full of hope which is reflected in my prayers to the one who created us; for Stan, his Wife, Family, Care Givers (who also needs the guidance of the one who created us), and his Friends!

stan, you and the family are still in our prayers and our hearts,a speedy "giddy up go" to you, jimmy and mary

I am glad he is doing better, I was worried and just didnt say much about it. He will understand that I think. Glad you are better Bro.

Update for 3/4/11: Stan walked twice around the ICU unit again. They started him on a laxative and also a lasix(water pill for swelling). He ate a little spaghetti for dinner tonight. Still on the tylenol and oxycodon(sp?) for pain. Still having problems regulating is heart rate. Stan ask the nurse today "if they discharged patients on sundays", The nurse said "yes we do, but you arent leaving us yet, you have to remain in ICU a little longer and still go to the step-down unit." He is trying to "fly the coop" all ready, lol. They also put a phone in his room today, So Clara was able to talk to him on the phone. She said he sounded a little stronger today. If anyone wants to contact him pm me and I will get the number from Clara.

Morning update for 3/5/11: Stan has all ready walked once around the ICU unit this morning. Still having problems keeping his heart rate regulated, still too low. So they are adjusting his medication and anything else possible. He slept comfortably last night and was napping this morning when Clara called. He was complaining about the IV in his neck being uncomfortable and feeling like it was pulling. Clara told him that this was normal.

stan you behave your self now, them nurses are way tougher than you at this point... :D do what they tell you(i know this) get well soon buddy, jimmy

Evening update for 3/5/11: Just talked to Clara. She had good news and bad news. The good news is that Stan is doing better. But the bad news, Stan will be going back into surgery on Monday. They will be putting a permament pace maker in. They shut the temporary pace maker off today and his heart completely stopped. So please keep Stan in your prayers for a little longer while he goes back under the knife.

Prayers continueing from Florida!

Mitch

Been praying, hoping, crossing fingers. I haven't been able to get online due too last Sunday's tornado. But I'll be checking often now. I want to visit in person, when you're ready Stan, but I don't want to take up family time.

were still praying in Nebraska. GOOD LUCK

Prayers for Stan and the family continuing in NC.

we Pray. I hope the family can bear the stress, and continue with the support the patient needs right now.

Keith, we need to go to stan's and remove all them big toys so he don't get any ideas of overexerting himself too soon. You know, it's only the right thing for friends to do to keep him on the mend....... ;)

Update: 1:30pm 3/7/11
Due to miscommunication, Stan's pacemaker will be put in tomorrow. He is very antsy and ready to escape!!

It is Monday at approximately 11:16 AM. Here in Eastern Utah.
I find myself comming into my office and logging into "I Forge Iron" many more times per day more than usual.
I come in, in order to prayerfully, and hopefully find a "Positive" up-date on Stan.

It has been since Saturday that the last (much appreaceated) up-date was posted.

We just got an up-date: Thank you RED HOT 77
Now I know that tomorrow Stan will get his new pace maker.
So now I am looking foreward to the next time Stan makes a Post!
It goes with out saying that my prayers are continious!

Update Change: As of 2:30pm Stan is having his Pacemaker put in. The procedure will last about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Got to love big hospital communication. After Stan comes out of surgery, he has all ready made a request for some French Onion Soup w/grated parmasean and a bowl of chicken noodle soup, all from the St. Louis Bread Co. Will update later this evening when the procedure is over and he is situated in his new room.

Sounds like he is on the up-and-up! Hope all goes well.

Phil

Update: Stan made it out of surgery about 3:30pm. All went well. Arm is in sling for about 6wks. They removed the main IV out of his neck, finally, been there for a week now. He is out of ICU finally and in a different area of the hospital, so those of you that got his ph# for ICU, it wont work anymore. He is hoping and keeping his fingers crosses that he might be discharged tomorrow. Will update when I know more.

Stan will be so over joyed to see all of your prayers, thoughts,& comments! He really thinks the world of all of you,(I hear it all the time)lol..All he wants to do is teach & spread the knowledge of what he knows about smithing & machineing.

Get well Stan. Do your work in rehab. Take your time with the recovery. The medication from the surgery leave you feeling strange for a while. Best of luck to ya
