  1. Welcome to IFI Preachinpilot... As Frosty suggested editing your profile to show location will stop us from dunning you when an answer requires that info. I always suggest reading this to get the best out of the forum. READ THIS FIRST
  2. I suggest you take your own advice. The two people who you seem to be trolling have not acted like jerks by answering your questions, but have been honest with you. If you have a personal problem with someone, you can always use the ignore function.
  3. Welcome to IFI, We won't remember this after leaving this post, hence the suggestion to edit your profile to show location. If you haven't read this yet, it will help you get the best out of the forum. READ THIS FIRST
  4. Welcome to IFI Hector. I always suggest reading this to get the best out of the forum. READ THIS FIRST Like Thomas said, we love pictures.
  5. Depends upon how large your scrolls are. Small scrolls are made on the anvil and large ones with a jig. When matching parts, I make one that I like and then match the rest to it. If I match the third or later ones to the last one I made they always won't match the first. How about a picture of the ones you have made.

  7. Why in the world would you think that you offended me in any way? I am merely trying to help you get the best out of the forum and stay off the moderators radar. BTW, there is a way to tag someone with the @ sign, but it is discouraged by the admin. I'll let you find that one on your own.
  8. You might also want to read this about quoting the post just prior to your reply. The quote feature
  9. Ya think? Maybe reading this will help with that.
  10. Welcome to IFI... Patience usually pays off when looking for an anvil that's affordable using the TPAAAT. For starters I suggest reading through the sticky threads in the areas that interest you, just make a sandwich & preferred beverage, there are quite a few.
  11. Ah now that we know where you are we can suggest this thread for you, a great bunch down under.
  12. All that anvil needs is hot steel hammered on it to shine up the face. Knowing where in the world you are located will help answering other questions that come up. This thread will help you get the best out of the forum. READ THIS FIRST
  13. There is a power converter to take 110v down to 12v. I have several Powermax units that I use for different applications.
  14. You might want to review this section. https://www.iforgeiron.com/forum/151-knife-class-reference-material/
  15. I would think the cutting edges for road graders vs snow plows would have different properties, due to the speed in which they are used. Like anvil I have a bunch of road grader blade in my resource stock and have no problems with forging, cutting or grinding on them. My coal forge has legs made out of a blade split in half length wise and it welded up just fine.
  16. Click on the links in the read this first thread, they deal with things like quoting the post 's. Quoting the post just before yours is frowned upon and usually edited out by Mod's.

  18. Welcome to IFI, I suggest reading this to get the best out of the forum. READ THIS FIRST It is a common thing to have coal fumes back up in to the tuyere & piping when the blower is turned off. Then the gas ignites (called a backfire) when turned back on. A picture or two would help in figuring out a fix for you.
  19. Same here, so I googled it. Good grief it can have many meanings. That's why I hate acronyms.
  20. Looks good, hope you are wearing hearing protection when running it. My wife came out of her chair, when the video started, she thought my computer was self destructing.
  21. Very very nice. May I make a suggestion about posting pictures, which we love. Because we have folks that have to rely on dial up or pay for bandwidth, it is suggested to edit the size of pictures so they load faster. I usually use 500x375 for a size.
  22. You might want to resize your pictures to a lot smaller. The reason being we have members world wide who have to depend upun dial up or pay for bandwidth. The easiest way to resize is to double click on the picture when it is posted and a dialog box opens up, most recommended sizes are 500x375. You have a half hour to edit your posts.
  23. Done... Good job on the fuller and hot punch. I like your handle, all of my small punches are held by a pair of small rivet tongs with a clip.
