  1. Super nice! You've done it again.
  2. Very nice! Latticino, I don't know about you, but I recognized it as a rock right off the bat.
  3. Now I need to get me some horse shoes...
  4. I just use a cheap semi-rigid foil pipe from Lows. It's one of those accordion styles, but less flimsy as the floppy ones. For attaching, duckt tape seems to do the trick.
  5. Nice stuff! Next project can be dressing those hammers...
  6. Ahh, should've known it was a gear to an old steam shovel. Pst, get those hammers off the floor!
  7. Is that stand for training against barefoot smithing?
  8. If I was your son, I sure would be proud of it!
  9. Please dodn't get me wrong. It certainly is a cool project to make out of scraps.
  10. Cool and unique design. I would definitely recommend tempering. If you drop it, there's a chance it could even shatter. You also might want to try Kydex or rawhide for the sheath. That way you could make it "grab" the blade so you could hang it upside down. The way it is now, it would be tricky to draw it with one hand.
  11. The 2 and 1 are definitely part of the weight. Even besides the stone weight system, it is very common for the numbers to be spread apart.
  12. The hour glass on the base does look Hay Buddeny, but I can't say more than that. The earlier HBs are harder to recognize than the later solid steel top half ones.
  13. Welcome Millhand! That fire pot looks really nice. I couldn't critique it if I wanted too. Hope everything works out well for you.

    so proud of me

Good work. PS: I really like the hot cut you built into the RR track!
  15. Welcome Woogie! It will help you to put your general location in your profile. South Carolina ain't too far from Tennessee. Maybe we'll cross paths some day. Best wishes for your new endeavors! C-1
  16. Or you could reinforce it with some sqare stock or something.
  17. If you have to know a ball park value, a 150 lb hay budden in good shape usually will sell on Craigslist for $500.
  18. Come on Aus, that's the whole point! It isn't shameful to look back on how far you've come, and I think it would encourage the newbies to see that your first attempts look just like theirs.
  19. Start it out $1000, then drop the price by $50 every week till it is sold.
  20. Guess maybe that's what happens when your cows are finished on coal...
  21. I would expect a mortar to be a little more aerodynamic...
  22. Yet another elegant yet practical project. When I saw the title, I was like, "ooh, I hope he made a leaf that wraps around the handle"! Good job!
  23. I can't believe I haven't posted anything since last year... Happy new year from Tennessee! Be productive, spend time with your family, and get right with God. It's 12:00 a.m. I don't know about y'all, but I'm going to bed. Got to get up bright and early to start tapping the maples. ...Anyway, best wishes too all! C-1
