Scott NC
Power on my southpaw friends (no offense you righties!). I wrote this with my left handed cell phone
Anachronist58
Aha! So that is why the "word of the day" is "Sinistrality"! Mrs. Taylor and me - Lefties! RobertTaylor
Glenn
Left handed people can function in both the left handed and the right handed worlds. Give a right handed person a left handed pencil, or a left handed ruler, and watch the fun begin.
SLAG
Mr. Glenn, Easy for you to say. We know that you are ambidextrous! Hah !! Regards, SLAG.
ThomasPowers
Watch out for ambidextrous people because they can slap you silly with *both* hands! Actually being a smith has increased my abilities with my "off hand" as it has had to learn to maneuver the tongs while my primary hand uses the hammer! JHCC
I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous!
Stash
You just beat me to the punch, John. That's my go- to dad joke. Steve

ThomasPowers
Or would that be a-handed? Universal? Handless? I thought all mine were not handed; but I found that my writing was pretty much illegible when I used them in my off hand and so there must be a problem with the pencils! Glenn
There are many left handed blacksmithing tools, left handed hammers for instance. There are many tools that are right handed only and the left handed person just has to adapt. Never have seen a left handed chain saw. They are always right handed as a safety feature. CrazyGoatLady
I'm a right hander when it comes to writing and things like that, but I do most everything else left handed. Counting money and operating a fishing pole, which is set left handed comes to mind right off the top. I tend to use my left leg more. I can write left handed and it's legible, but feels odd. My Dad was ambidextrous and could write beautifully with either hand. He had the prettiest handwriting of any man I've every seen
anvil
I'm a lefty. The only thing I do right handed was when I was a kid, my parents had me learn to golf right handed. Lol, I haven't chased that little white ball since high school. I was a better caddy than golfer.
Frosty
I used to work with a guy who was ambidextrous and said so. He couldn't do anything with either hand. Frosty The Lucky.

Frosty
You didn't have to fix things he garped up. He was a great guy, everybody loved him he was just a sometimes dangerously lousy operator. His name became synonymous with, screwed up. as in Boy you really Farleyed that one. Or, It's really Chuckled up. You get the idea. I gotta stop, I have a couple decades worth of Ziggy stories. The names HAVE been changed to protect the ambicapped. Frosty The Lucky.
ThomasPowers
Doesn't every blacksmithing group have someone famous for always burning their metal up? I remember in the MOB it was "Sparky" and SOFA had the term "Scharbach Hot" (SP?)
Frosty
You know we DO have a member from a pretty remote location who puts sparkle in any meeting he attends. We don't have a special name though and most of the membership is too green in hot shops to keep out of his way. I go nuts at meetings trying to prevent brandings. Frosty The Lucky.
