Jacques
Just to prove that it is possible. About a month ago I didn't have space on a table in the workshop to put a clipboard down. Now it is cleaner than it has been in many years, everything, including the cupboards and drawers, has been sorted and cleaned. The only stuff around is work in progress. Now I have to start on my forging area.

randy lee
I stretched out a cow hide for making snowshoe lacing, since then we haven't had enough snow for decent snowshoeing.
matto
here is my shop after getting forge setup it is set up so two smiths can work at the forge at the same time. there is an air gate to an electric blower from the hand crank blower with a control switch on the wall behind the flue pipe. that way ether smith can control the fire. the other side of the shop has the gas forge you can use it there or roll it where ever. there is a small stock rack under it. the shop has alot more stuff in it now. i made a post a couple of months ago on the trails and rails museum blacksmith shop that i am building. i have the footings in and the floor formed up with areas for the brick forge and the power hammer formed out so we can pour footings for them later. the floor will be stained and stamped to look like brick. as soon as i get the pictures on the computer i will post. now i need to get the old barn down so i can build the shop. kevan
Mine is about 32x32 and is more woodshop than metal but metal is slowly taking more and more space. I like it....a lot. Really cool shop!
Dodge
Mine is about 32x32 and is more woodshop than metal but metal is slowly taking more and more space. I love the sliding patio door! :)
P. Bedard
Here you go. A photo from the right hand side of the shop; And one from the left hand side; There isn't much in there yet, we just moved and I wasn't able to do much in there during the Winter. It's not much, but it's home. (Or it may as well be, I spend more time in there than in the house some days!)
Mark Emig
I hope you all know that a clean shop is the sign of a sick mind! I'd take a picture of my shop, but the camera is buried in the mess.
Tim McCoy
Great shop, clean or not! Have you had any challenges with your venting system and the "right" angles??

greensngravy
If the pics are too big just click on the pic, then press "Cntrl" while turning your mouse wheel to adjust size. I don't know how else to shrink these bad boys.
Borntoolate
I like it....a lot. Really cool shop! I love the sliding patio door! :) I like my Shop too! Thanks The sliding Glass doors came with the shop. The previous owner was wanting to make a rental unit but never quite finished. Some parts have drywall. The wood shop area that is covered with pegboard was only covered recently. That was bare insulation, framing and electrical wires just a few months prior to the pic. The sliding glass was probably meant to go to a patio...
Jymm Hoffman
I thought I had posted some photos of my shop previously, so I had to look through the entire thread. That turned out to be very interesting. I have been in some pretty small shops in the past, my first was referred to a forging closet. When I found the current shop space in June if 1999, I was looking for 1/2 this size. Well, I have filled it and would like twice this size, but not twice the rent :) So here are some photos: My interior floor space is 17' by 43'. I took 8' off the lenght of the work space to have storage and office area, so the working shop space is 17 by 35. And also a video interview that gives you some idea of my normal working conditions:

Jacques
And as part of my ongoing cleaning up project, probably the last time you will see my little forging corner as neat as this. Gas forge goes under the fan and the coal forge stands outside the door. The table is cluttered with stuff and projects I need to make a go or stay decision on. CurlyGeorge
Hey, you have a concrete floor in there. My wife says that mine used to have one somewhere under all that stuff. :)

Jacques
Jaques, Nice looking set-up. How do you manage without lots of bars and such a small lock? Alarm system, cameras, electric fence and Telkom next door has a 24 hour security guard.
