  1. So itc-100 is good? I better look for more isolating stones to make better doors (and a doormechanism) so the efficiancy of my forge improves. (Devil forge). It is getting plenty hot, i can get steel white. But with a price, gasconsumption is skyhigh (4hours) With a baffle at the back (1cm or 1/2" away from the forge) it is better. Turning it down to "only" a yellow also. But now something for the front. Now i get 10hours yellow heat out of my tank (12kg propane). If i get 12hours at yellow i am happy. To improve more, the shell needs thicker isulation I think.
  2. Nice work. Goods, how did you attach the rail to the supports?
  3. Mostly lownet in eu is 380/400v, 3 fases + neutral. So 220/230 between fase and neutral. You do find 3x 230V but they are older systems (do I get lucky ). Not every one gets 400, most get 1 fase +neutral so 230v (or 2 fases of 230). I say 380 and 220 are the old, sinds a long time it is 230 and 400 but on a lot of older equipment you still find 220/380. And i think the average consumer does notice a difference. Our washers, ovens, ... Mostly come with a standard plug you can put in the standard socket. Almost all standard sockets are rated for 230V and 16A. So no fear of it may not fit. (You still need planning in your house however, the differential is different for a washer than a oven. Also it is better for the fuse not to out the oven and several other sockets on the same loop, but that is the same with you I presume) Extention cords also if 2,5mm2 on each section and rolled out. So 3500W. Most are 1,5mm2 (cheaper, less copper) so only 10A or 2300W.
  4. Put it in celcius and that was last week in belgium. Now 10C and rain. Lots of rain.
  5. The bananas are stocked? Thanks for the update. Thomas. Enjoy the holydays away from hospital and with friends and family. (Amd anvils and hammers and a forge and ...)
  6. George, with degrees i have the same but with F. With volume, distance, ... it is easy. 0 is nothing and a big number is something big. Even if you have only halve of an idea what it really means. With temperature, they only share -40. So even the below zero means something completly different. For us celcius guys, it is also freezing, the freezing of water. Simple (for me atleast). But with F, i never know for sure if people talk about freezing, they mean below zero F or the water is freezing (carwindows are freezing over in the morning). The conversion is also not as easy as. Devide by a number (number depends on precision you want). No add/subtract a number and devide. Yeah easy . For my strangly windspeeds are also hard for me. Speed in knots or mention beaufortscale and I can see wind and waves. Mention it in m/s (why you use that offshore, you are not industry) or km/h or miles and I always have to convert because all the others make no sence to me.
  7. I agree with jobtiel. but in my head it is a bit to hot for the time of year. around 5C feels more ok.
  8. It arrived last week (we still need to send ours) my oldest really likes the card. Oooeee a dino! I believe they are the same age, he is 3,5 ueara Years
  9. Frosty with wintertires it is always the same. Or you change them to late, meaning you have trouble reaching the shop or you are to early like in a month before the snow. I have for my own cars (not the companycar) an extra set of rims+wheels. So i changed them out when they predicted cold weather. Not that we get a real winter. Ours are wet and around freesing. So more fun. So this year i try eu allyeartires as wintertires. According to the test they are perfectly designed for conditions we in west-europe call winter.
  10. you drink enough during forging? If i don't drink enough, i get headaces
  11. good tip for making the heartshape. Thanks.
  12. yes. those thigs are designed for what you want to do. Good luck with the renovation of the building
  13. It is for a temporary solution? Use these. On the bottom a piece of wood underneed. 2 nails so when you ajust for the hights, you can just stand on the wood and it will not twist away. these are plenty strong. I used 3 to hold up my house when installing a beam.
  14. Thanks for the update, althou it is bad news. Good luck thomas, i will ring my anvil for you
  15. The root? You make surrogate coffee with that (don't like the taste) Witloof is not the root. It is simply said, endive you grow in the dark. Similar to white aspergerus vs green ones.
  16. I know funny eh. And they all tast so different. And most of them are so nice. But brussel sprouts bitter? You never had witloof (google translate gives me chicory, but that is the family of plants i think) that is bitter.
  17. I followed a business coarse in the beginning of this year. An advise that the different teachers and entrepreneurs gave me is, don't try to invent THE best name and logo for your firm. Pick something that looks nice, that sounds good and is easy and simple to remember. they gave us a homework of making a one-pager (a one page website) with the name, logo and a short sentence/description of what you stand for. We had that lession on a thursday and on saterday we had to present it. Online you can find name-generators for businesses. Some even let you choose if you want it sort/long, real words or ... same for logo's. If you end up liking something, choose it, you can always simplify the logo to fit the stamp. I did not continue with my idea, the market was flooded and now after summer, a lot of the stores still have them, with the current crisis not a lot of people bought them. However, my name and logo I have and will use for my smithing if i ever want to sell stuff. I believe i used https://namelix.com/
  18. it is easy, you can't fail. i can share some good and easy receipts, but you have to translate from dutch to english. google dagelijksekost.be and look on the website for hutsepot. or somethink else you want to try. Some thinks are typical belgian (stoofvlees, luikse balletjes, vol au vent, ...), you have "imported" food ( a lot of pastadishes or rise dishes) that is changed and is now typical and so one. job, funny. I always make my hutsepot with onions and carrots, and i think a lot of people (at least all my friends). it tastes better, has a fuller taste. But i use onions in a lot of thinks, just for the little bit of sweeter taste.
  19. from chicken to pot is a short time frame is also a good reminder to never go eating there again.
  20. same family as stamppot, the difference is hutsepot, you 'huts' the pot (more shaking and stirring) and with stamppot you 'stamp' it, you more or less mash is with a masher. (or at least, that is how they came to their name) hutsepot is more used in belgium and stamppot more in the nederlands. Ingredients are more or less the same and i think every family has their own receipt. I like mine with a lot of brussel sprouts in it, some bacon (not baked to glasslike), onion, carrots, patato, turnips (not the blackadder ones). Just wait and everything falls apart, some stirring and ready to eat (now i want to make and eat it). Perfect with a baked sausage and some mustard. (and a glass of beer)
  21. At my school there are a couple of tables made for vises. They don't look that nice. Handy thinks. You can move them and yet stable when hammering. But big, they take up floorspace. The ones mounted on a heavy pole, take up less space (also to walk around them)
  22. You can also make a fruitbowl out of your snowflake
