The edge. You can see it on the 2nd photo. Or is a line from hardening?

Very nice knife, cool inspiration story as well. If I may nitpick. The bevel looks uneven grinded.
  5. All looking good. Jaleous of the time you spend at the anvil. I spend my hobby time also around an anvil, but it is to fix up a hobby car. At least it is metal
  6. So finally it hangs up.
  7. Nope, was my first try and failed spectacular. Made like a scroll and I used a scrolling tong to keep the angle of the bar more or less consistent. If I ever do a serie or matching set, i would make an mandrel, because I think it will be faster. Was 10x10 square, but yeah for the ribbon part i flattend it to more or less 20x4.5 or 5 The end piece i went to 25x4. The only problem i see with the handle is that i did not made a stand so hanging or standing is a bit hard for the time being. Good thing is that i have my giftidea for him next year.
  8. I needed a gift for a friend, so I made a fire poker. He has a pizza oven outside.
  9. I never had an angle grinder cutting out on me because of overheating. And i worked 6 years at a shipyard. Frying up an extension cord yes, especially with fibre discs. The small ones, with 125mm discs. On the bigger ones, it was me who crapped out of overheating But than i see you said cheap. Maybe there is the problem. The bosch or makita they run, till the brushes are gone. And than you get new brushes. The cheap grinders i only use in fibreglass. Because the nasty dust, cheap or expensive, they get worn out fast (and I don't earn enough to replace the expensive ones).
  10. Steve, missed this topic complete. Good to hear you are feeling better. What a s%&tshow at your wifes ex-job. Hope that what goes around, comes around for her ex-boss. Enjoy the retired life both of you. That you may stay in good health so you can enjoy it.
  11. Crazy e. Yours frees solid, we have a bit of freezing. But solid (haha) information.
  12. Depending where you live that is not a problem. And even than, the 1 or 2cm of ice it will get on top are a non issue
  13. thats what I do, use till they leak. Empty and use a new one. And they continue to serve as a garbage container (don't forget to put a bag in it) Now I use an old vacuumcleaner. The vacuumpart is broken, but the stainless steel body is perfect. And it has wheels, very handy.
  14. Not much smitting this year. Only a bit during saturdays at my lessions. And it is going slow work on table and a rack and things All my hobby time gets in my car at the moment. It must ride in august and still lots to do.
