  1. George i now want to see pictures of the house. I also figured out why i see a lot of scaled american drawings in a 1:12 scale. Thanks for that. Shaina, also dutch native speaker if you prefer a nicer, softer version flemish, i can also learn you west-vlaams, so you need subtitles for all other dutch speakers.
  2. En you are also warmed up as well. Seems like a winwin
  3. So from a chicken to a toilet. But yes, a toilet = wc. Sometimes it is marked as such as well. Can be a plus, if you make toiletroll holders and toiletbrushes
  4. The scandinavian guys find Ø instead of 0 confusing. Why a letter in between the numbers?
  5. Nice pictures. Looks clean, nice sign. No action fotos? R0gue, smart about etching. For work i need to stamp some stuff from time to time. No markings on the shaft. I've stamped some stuff upside down or sideways (square shank). Always looks nice on pictures that you include with the certificates. You don't feel like an idiot. Twisted, it just i don't like seeing cigarette or welding butts laying around. The dirt i couldn't care less. You work there and you are not a cleaning man as a job (maybe a little so you can at least see what brand of machine they bring in). Something from a job at the shipyard. Grinddust and slag and dirt everywere, but i get annoyed at the welders/fitters for leaving their cigarettes and electrodes laying around. Didn't care for the rest, i know they have to sweep. That they just take a steel bucket and throw them in, we had 0,5l paintbuckets at the warehouse. Also if the owners see that, they cared a little less about the mess we make to their pressious highgloss paint and leave used ceramics or used grinderdiscs laying around. Thanks for offering to sweep if i ever make it over there. Don't know if ever, so maybe sweep from time to time, the ceiling can become really low after a lot of dirt. Just seen the film. Wow. The amount of heat comming from that thing.
  6. I think you need to forge an ashtray. I don't care about smoking, i care about the "littering" on the floors from the buts.
  7. The hammer at my school is also with hydraulic oil. Also recommended.
  8. Toptip about extra light, make sure it is not shining in over the back of your head. You get reflections in the glass otherwise. I'm apparently the only stupid with fixed glasses (amd the small ones, not the doubles). I use a din 11 for stick an go to 12 or even 13 for mig. Lower and my eyes start to water, most people go 1 lower
  9. Haha nice curtain. Nice tree alexandr. Not a christmissytree. But looks nice. I also have to make a tree, to hang earrings on it. I was thinking of making it from wire (have some 1,2mm steelwire leftover from tying rebar together) and twisting together.
  10. Wow, a bit of a shock. Good the tumor is out and he is awake.
  11. Weird pricing. K25 as the most expensive choice.
  12. More of yesterday than today but forgewelding yesterday. All went well, my folded over strips hold togheter nice and where blended in good. Next project is learning the prepwork (welding bevel, can't remember the propper english word), welding those up with droptong methode and than welded tongs. My year long practice of (just not) burning the steel in the fire was giving me an advantice. Also made a different design for my forks. Not from round 8mm, but out of strip 30x6. No more wrap, but i split the strip and fold over to make the heart. No picture because, i fergot to take one.
  13. Pour boiling water over the knife. Does not need to be all that complex.
  14. The moments you think, if i stayed in bed this morning, i had a more constructive day.
  15. Thomas, thas was my tonga failing. One of the beaks failed, to thin. I can cry about it. Or weld it and see what will happen. They don't look like a masterpiece, so a bit more uglyness will not kill me. Doing a wrap without a torch is hard. Especially if the heartshape is just fits the forge. I think the heartshape is to big (and a bit wobly, but thats from doing the wrap in the vice. I need to clean it up. The fork bit is not ready. I run out of time and for once i stopped instead of rushing the job. Sizewize. Overall length as is now is 640mm. Roundbar of 8mm
  16. Oh, you're joking? I just ordered some explosives to do explosion welding. seems like the reasonable way to do this. Probably leave these as is and make better ones with these. After 20 tongs, i hope i know how to make one.
  17. Add tickness? Frosty. I have a notebook. Very bad connection at the workshop, so i need sketches otherwise i miss a step in the process and keep wondering what i did wrong. I will messure the boss. From the looks of it, i lost max 1mm (starting from 6mm). The beginnen of the rains (? Spelling?) is thick. Almost 11mm.
  18. Made some tongs. Not finished, they need to be fitted yet. And aligned. Inspired by mark aspery v-tong for beginners. Made mine out of 30x6 instead of the 20x6 he uses. Had what trouble with the boss, a bit to thin, but no idea how to correct it. I had some coldshuts (i forged to cold), nothing a welding machine can't repair. Want to make flat tongs for 6mm thick steel and a grove inside for 8mm round/square. They feel flimsy, I made long rains, gasforge user and i like the little bit of hear on my fingers.
  19. A nice hammerhead followed me home. The guy who owned it before, didn't want to put a new handle in it. Also he welded on it, but it cleaned up nice. 1500g. A bit heavy for my taste, but never bad.
  20. I've used a similar machine at my last job. You can use it for knives, sharpening drillbits, ... Just like you can cut something with a spoon. It works, but not as nice as using the proper tool for the job.
