    You may know this, but you want to be sure to preheat before arc welding HC steel as well. Looks good.

    really, really nice. keep it up.

    Cast Iron makes great tuyeres. wire brush the paint off, and use BLO to keep it from rusting, or just leave it like it is. Most folks leave it.

    This is mine. My shop name is Horizon Forge, so i did a (somewhat abstract) rising sun as my touch mark. Took a bit of air hardening steel and did the shaping with a file and a drill. The design you go with and the tools you have will dictate how it is done.

    I would agree. My Soderfors does not have it.

    your anvil is a Soderfors, one of the best, if not the very best anvil ever made. the razor and crown part of the soderfors logo. the are cast solid high carbon steel. Quite the score!

    I came 2 inches from losing my left eye yesterday morning... wile not wearing proper PPE. Glasses glasses glasses! Learn from my stupidity, everyone! I definitely have.

    No, I have not been in the habit of "glassing up" when I forge. That has definitely changed.
