I made this Bowie for a friend that was in our video, Knifemaking Unplugged. William Hell out of Misery aka Bill Cooper. This Bowie is 18 inches overall and forged from 1095 high carbon steel with a 1018 mild steel guard. Brass spacers, steel pins and a walnut handle.

This Bowie knife was hand forged using 1095 high carbon steel. The guard is 1018 mild steel and the handle is Sonoran Desert Ironwood. The overall length is 15-1/4 inches.

Here's the latest from my shop, the first knife of 2017. The steel is forged W2. The guard is wrought iron from the first railroad into Dallas in 1872. The wood is spalted sycamore from the grounds at the Texas Capitol. The coin is an 1836 half dollar, the year Texas won her independence from Mexico. OAL is 15 inches. This is a fairly close copy of a knife I'll present to Texas governor Greg Abbott Jan 30th to commemorate House Bill 1935, which undid restrictive knife laws. http://www.frycustomknives.com/announcements/ktxs-abc-news-more-knife-freedom

From the album: Knives, and Blacksmithing
This is a 425 Layer random Ladder & Raindrop pattern Damascus Bowie knife. I used Snakewood for the handle, and added a Mosaic pin and spacers for a nice contrast. Blade measures 11 3/4" and the over all length is 17 1/2" Completed Memorial Day, 2012- 8 comments
