  1. Lol. Only idea is about peeling the paper towels from the front of the holder. I think the display parts may be in the way. How does it work?
  2. Bring em over, we can test em out that's the best test. If they hold up they might be good. I recently broke 2 punches I made. One in use and the other by dropping it. They were early ones I made. Guess I didn't temper them back enough. If I needed to harden and temper them at all. What steel did you use? And did you heat treat them? They look fine to me.
  3. I agree with JHCC. Welcome and thank you for sharing your work.
  4. Nice work Ibor. It is well done. I assume the one side that only attaches to the head is a belt clip?
  5. A trail camera? I couldn't for certain answer but I have never known of anyone using any special filters when taking pictures or video of welding arcs. And I never have seen damage to the device from such as long as it's not getting the heat or hit with sparks or slag.
  6. That is a beautiful batch JPH. Looks like a great start to the year.
  7. Wow that is some interesting stuff. Nice work.
  8. Very sorry to hear JHCC. At least she is peaceful. You, Lisa, Dolores and the family are in my prayers.
  9. What Glenn said. I have just bent wrong and had pain that would take the breath out of me. For me it has gone away in a day or two so i just suffer it. I can't say about yours but I hope you recover quickly and completely.
  10. about single digits here and boy can I say, that 2400+ degree f forge feels good.
  11. Aus you have inspired me and many others. Shared ideas and inspired. Thank you, and everyone else here. Myself, I found IFI through searches while trying to improve my blacksmithing and found so much more then the pinpoint idea I was looking for.
  12. I like them Aus. That's another take on the nail hooks.
  13. Thanks Aus. These work great for the smaller more repeatable sculptures. I have been going around and finding butter knives in bulk or cheap where I can.
  14. I will see if I get a chance I will try to show you how I start mine out. There are other ways I'm sure. Basically what Alan said. Until then I made a post on ideas on how to make them more simply and cleanly. There was a lot of good ideas and information there. Have a read. http://www.iforgeiron.com/topic/48005-fork-n-spoon/#comment-501504
  15. I have a feeling this will get stretched out.
  16. Looks like it cleaned up well. Now you can take what you learned to the next one you make.
  17. I appreciate it Tubalcain. If the reward is just that I tried my best, that is all I need. I appreciate the help and prayers. The whole IFI family is in my thoughts and prayers as well.
  18. Thank you Jimmy. Likewise if you feel like forging.
  19. Thanks Frosty, C-1. Frosty, I have learned that, and I have to remind myself of it. A cousin of mine that I don't see often is also down on his luck at the moment. I talked with him and will be driving out to bring him out to my place for the weekend. He is a great woodworker and is interested in what I've been doing so I'm going to teach him a little metal work. Also my brothers haven't seen him in a while and it will be some good bonding time for all of us. I hope that may help ease things if only for a weekend.
  20. JHCC, I just recently was binging on YouTube and saw a video of a company in Africa making sandles from tire tread. It was interesting and got me wanting to try to make a pair.
  21. Those are some very nice looking tongs LittleBlacksmith. Well done!
  22. some of my forge work has been "bish" lol. but yes it is mostly all inventory. Invent- or- Y?
  23. Thank you so much Glenn. You have been too kind. I'm doing and praying my all. Some times I want to just give up because I feel I dont have the strength but I know I cant and I have to keep trying giving and sharing. I have some faith that the family can get better and heal. At times it seems like we are cursed. I'm giving all I have for healing.
  24. Outstanding project and well done! also Thank you for the knowledge.
