  1. I have a feeling this will get stretched out.
  2. Looks like it cleaned up well. Now you can take what you learned to the next one you make.
  3. I appreciate it Tubalcain. If the reward is just that I tried my best, that is all I need. I appreciate the help and prayers. The whole IFI family is in my thoughts and prayers as well.
  4. Thank you Jimmy. Likewise if you feel like forging.
  5. Thanks Frosty, C-1. Frosty, I have learned that, and I have to remind myself of it. A cousin of mine that I don't see often is also down on his luck at the moment. I talked with him and will be driving out to bring him out to my place for the weekend. He is a great woodworker and is interested in what I've been doing so I'm going to teach him a little metal work. Also my brothers haven't seen him in a while and it will be some good bonding time for all of us. I hope that may help ease things if only for a weekend.
  6. JHCC, I just recently was binging on YouTube and saw a video of a company in Africa making sandles from tire tread. It was interesting and got me wanting to try to make a pair.
  7. Those are some very nice looking tongs LittleBlacksmith. Well done!
  8. some of my forge work has been "bish" lol. but yes it is mostly all inventory. Invent- or- Y?
  9. Thank you so much Glenn. You have been too kind. I'm doing and praying my all. Some times I want to just give up because I feel I dont have the strength but I know I cant and I have to keep trying giving and sharing. I have some faith that the family can get better and heal. At times it seems like we are cursed. I'm giving all I have for healing.
  10. Outstanding project and well done! also Thank you for the knowledge.
  11. CT, I cant say it translated like that to me but it looks great haha. from root yes, but where they pass over and through the horizontal bars then cross through and behind the vertical is great. visually pleasing to me whatever the intended meaning. well done!
  12. funny enough the leaf heart hooks from 8 or 10" nails take me longer then the horse shoe horse head hearts. yeah the horseshoe hearts take a bit to recognize. here is a pic in progress. if you really want I will take a pic of each process.
  13. Haha. I only wish my scrap pile was bigger and more extensive. don't worry it will grow! . Thanks CT.
  14. Nice work LittleBlacksmith. As always I am impressed.keep it up!
  15. I'm an Auto Body collision repair tech. I forge and do scrap sculpture by night. I'm working at doing my hobby full time but that will take some time.
  16. Thanks Robert. My family needs the prayers. let me know a good time. I'd love to talk.I'm feeling a bit lost.
  17. Update, it's too much to handle almost. My brother is in a downward spiral. Rest of the family is in denial but I can't bury my brother. Just can't so I'm looking at every option and doing what I can. I'm wearing out. I really am. I am mad at myself for trying to tell myself let the chips fall where they may. I'm wearing thin. Thank you all for the prayers so far.
  18. Great work LittleBlacksmith. They are nice. And sometimes we all have to go to plan C or D or Z lol. I like parts on yours that I don't like much on my own. Keep at it. You have the advantage of starting young and I look forward to seeing where you go from there. I'm already impressed. Well done and keep it up.
  19. You will just have to work on that. Keep on forging. I think I'll have it down by the hundredth one haha.
  20. Nice work Dustin. Sounds like a great tradition to start.
  21. For fun add rum. Haha. Well, I amuse myself at least. Think I'll straighten some coil spring and work on some punches tonight.
  22. ? I know every time I miss hit, usually ends in cuss words and happens less and less the more I work.. now inviting people over and looking at my hammers after is another thing. They never hurt my anvil tho....
  23. Thomas, so far none will let me in. Otherwise I'd be poor. But the last one sold so I made another
  24. TechnicusJoe has some videos on YouTube about cleaning up blowers and some problems he has sorted out with them.
