  1. I agree with the others. Well done. Just in case you do something similar with the bars through the frame, if you don't want the welds to show, drill the frame and put the bars through with the bars being just inset from the frame, then you can plug weld the bars in the holes and grind the welds flush. I have also used the hole technique to weld other shaped pieces to another piece so the attachment point wouldn't look welded. Not saying I see an issue with how you did it on this piece.
  2. Thanks Lary, Scott. It was a pretty easy one. Hardest part was welding the thin legs and antennae on.
  3. Unfortunately I didn't get more better pictures. It is basically a wood bolt with the head ground round then a nut chucked up on it for more body and the wing base. The wings are utensil ends that fit the bill. The legs and antennae are finish nails cut to length. Mig weld blobs for the eyes and mouth area. I plan to make some more and will get more and better pictures then.
  4. Thanks Frosty. Good use of some stainless nuts that came out of the Fastenall dumpster.
  5. A little quick sculpture I made for my daughters kindergarten teacher. She loves bees and I have seen variations on this type of thing. It was well recieved.

    Stop Sign Tongs

Looks like some lock out tag out to keep someone from doing something while maintenance was working. Pretty cool.
  7. I discovered that as well Billy. Had to hold the test button on mine. Another one of mine at work wouldn't darken.
  8. Most important parts are there. You could make a bick for the hardy hole. So yeah, if the face plate is solid and it has decent rebound it is worth it.
  9. Plus the drive to get it or shipping. Even handling it would be tough for someone like me. That isn't bad compared to the potential of what you could sell the finished work for. A chain it a chain, sculptural art is subjective. Make something desirable out of it and you could make thousands.
  10. I would Love to have that thing to figure something to do with it.
  11. I have heard about cooking in them. Anything else? I could guess as a chamber pot but that wouldn't make wearing it again very pleasant. Cool face Rojo. Kind of a look of a hard life but still compassionate.
  12. Truely appreciate the hard work and effort. Just at a poke and a peek I have seen more than I have before. The effort is a great help to many.
  13. Great job Steve. I see a ton of bps getting put in place.
  14. That is a good one Frosty. I was never into country music growing up. Over the years I have found some I like tho. Gatta love Johnny Cash.
  15. Eh. Ok. I still need to go through a bunch of music here but now I feel like adding something. Just tell me to bugger off if I get too invasive. I like some industrial and edm as they call it. Here's something with a good beat. ya know, if I start I might get hooked sharing. Ugh. Thats a Lot of music. Another one I really like. Covenant : Bullet. I dig the robotic theme to their video too. Great singer. Oo UN age restricted?
  16. Nice looking handles Gewoon. A sense of pride every time you open the door.
  17. I always like these kinds of finds. Fun to think about the process that went in to making it and who would have used it.
  18. Yeah it is an evolving thing. The hood hinges are from more modern subaru models like crosstrek or outback. I have some more and save the junk ones when they get replaced. Yup that's the magnetic chuck. I am pretty happy with it so far. I'd like to incorperate it into the welding table but want to use it a bit more to be sure how i want it before I commit to anything.
  19. Thanks Larry, I look forward to it as well haha. I have other projects that live in boxes as well. They are just waiting on the right time. Sometimes that is years from now. I keep moving this guy around and I just Have to see what he becomes. Frosty, that is a great motto. I will have to read that book one day when I have some peaceful time to sit back and read. As it goes now I can't even keep up reading here. Sometimes I even get distracted in the middle of a reply and have to get back to it later.
  20. All good George. Still much respect and sincerity. In fun is always good in fun.
  21. Mine as well. We can only hope we inspired. Pretty sure you will be fondly thought of. Anyway lets live while we live. ζούμε όσο ζούμε
