  2. When I was forging outside, I used a large rubermaid tote to place over the anvil to keep it dry
  3. 4th degree burns are continuous burning like Nukes or chemicals that keep burning you up after the initial contact

If you want auto start, you will also need a power transfer switch to prevent it putting out power to the system when the main power returns to service, plus its a major NO-NO to just plug it in with out protecting the linemen working on the lines due to your generated power backfeeding the lines
  12. Honestly you are better to remove the 2 prong plug and replace that with the 3 prong female
  13. the first temper is done immediately after the quench to prevent cracking from the stress of the quench. We temper again later, as in waiting until the next day or so, to temper the retained austenite that converted into martensite on its own (which is brittle ) during the wait between cycles, I see no reason to quench more than once, nor tempering more than twice

  18. Fire brick are a disposable item, but we can prolong their life by using a sacrificial barrier like kiln shelf to protect them
  19. If you use a hot work steel like H13 then it matters, but even with other tool steels, you dont let it get hot to begin with
  20. that is the general idea, tho I feel its a waste of time, I use it as is from the box with some sal amoniac and boric acid added, for the same reason as mixing the salts
  21. Time to trade in the 2004, and get a new Jeep, this one is a 2014 Compass and I love the dark blue color, with only 68k miles
