  1. Sounds like he wanted you to take over, can you do payment plan?
  2. Looks more like one S and one 2 on the end. Hard to tell though on the screen.
  3. Yea I should have stated that NEW rebar is labeled, Guess I need a geiger counter too? :P
  4. You do not need dies for that, it is too beautiful to use ;)
  5. I grab the leather sleeves and gloves now even if just making a few tacks. 2 seconds to put on the leather. I spent enough time when younger as an aluminum tig welder to have used up all my alotment of death rays :)
  6. You are lucky to hold history in your hand, nice collector piece.
  7. More commonly known a a 3 start thread. Or however many threads it has, my small flypress has a 4 start screw in it.
  8. There have recently been 2 anyang 165 hammers for sale and probably still are for $7500 and $7800. Your 200 lb #7 probably has similar capabilities- I have not run one so can not say for sure. But basing size - dollar ratio can you have it running for less than $7000 or so? I would thin so barring serious damage. You will likely have a better machine as well.
  9. Bad idea, you do not need to be "burned" to accept the skin cancer coming out of the arc. Friend of mine died due to t shirt welding, by the time he had any symptoms his body was so full of cancer there was nothing to be done. He was only welding about 5 years and was 45 yrs old.
  10. I do not think that excessive praise and positive encouragement are always a good thing, sometimes something needs to be said about how a piece could be made better. It is sad that some people tale a little constructive criticism so hard, I know it is difficult to convey feelings in such an impersonal form of communication such as typing though. smith
  11. In my experience one of the best ways to improve at anything is constructive criticism by peers.
  12. the good thing about rebar is it is identified every few feet on the bar as to what it is
  13. Grind it off and use a wheel made for aluminum on the galvy, it wont load up or use coarse grit sanding disc like 36 or so. Get back about 1/2" from the weld should be enough.
  14. reminds me of homer simpson for some reason
  15. If you are unsure of materials to use for something then the best thing to do is look at what is commercially available for sale and copy it. Go to your local trailer supply place and look at one. You are far from the first person to make a motorcycle trailer. smith out
  16. I seem to remember him posting some positive comments about it and your trade on nwba site.
  17. That looked too easy, I am glad it went so smooth and am a bit jealous as that is a nicer table than mine . Congrats on the score.
  18. Thank you for letting us know. I would have liked to have been there but I am in southern calif. sad smith out. befuddled grocery clerks made me smile:)
  19. Wow, that is an awesome die, is it possible for you do do a Grant Sarver style video of it in use?
  20. The hook is beautiful, does it swivel? The lamp looks good quality wise but way off on the proportions. If I scale the drawing at aprox 13 1/2" tall then the base ring should be aprox 4 1/2" across. With the 8"ring base you made your lamp would need to be 24" tall to look like the drawing.
  21. I remember seeing one of the old chainmaking videos had a shot of the guy making the chain using an oliver to weld the links. I will try to find it.
