Glenn
The blacksmithing community has lost a father-in-the-trade with the passing of Frank Turley of New Mexico. He would have been 85 on December 10th. Through his Sante Fe school, established in 1970, and via conferences across the nation, he had taught the new generation of smiths. Ring your anvil for Frank today and through the week. Reprinted from ABANA Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

ThomasPowers
I was there when he received the ABANA Heritage Award last year; His school was famous for a full time 3 week course in smithing that basically turned you out as a journeyman smith. I hope the school will continue! Frank cowrote "Southwestern Colonial Ironwork: The Spanish Blacksmithing Tradition" and was a noted participant in Native American Dance. Ring your anvils!
